PRAYER FOR COMMUNITY DURING CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
God of kinship,
We ask that you help us
to see the sacredness
of our connections to one another.
May we be thankful for the family,
friends, and community
in our parish and school.
Help us to see Christ in each other,
and guide us to nourish the
friendships-in-faith among us.
We make this prayer
in your holy name.
AMEN.
CATHOLIC SCHOOL'S WEEK
Dear Bruin Families,
Wow—what a week! Catholic Schools Week has been filled with so much joy, celebration, and gratitude, and I just want to take a moment to say thank you for being part of it!
From honoring our parish and our nation to celebrating our amazing faculty and staff, vocations, our students, and our community, this week has been a wonderful reminder of what makes our school so special. The smiles, laughter, and faith-filled moments we shared truly showed the heart of our school family.
Thank you for your support, your prayers, and for being part of this incredible community. We are so blessed to have each of you here! May God continue to bless our school and all of our families.
Sincerely,
Mr. Ryan Nearhoff

Lunch will be the same as usual. You may send your child’s lunch from home or order lunch through Cater Tots as you typically do.

TUTORING FROM ST. DOROTHY ALUM
We were paid a visit last week from a Bruin alum, Daniel Haddad who is offering one on one tutoring services. He is a recent UCSB graduate and a St. Dorothy graduate of 2016. He is currently in a gap year before heading into medical school this fall and is offering tutoring services. Please note that this is private tutoring and not directly affiliated with St. Dorothy. See the flier below for more details and a QR code to sign up.

We are seeking to build our online database of Bruin Alumni. If you are still in contact with or know any Bruin alums, please send them this link and encourage them to join our database. DID YOU KNOW?
February 1-2 || Grants available for victims of recent wildfires
The Archdiocese of Los Angeles has established a Wildfire Victims Emergency Relief Fund to provide financial assistance to help victims of the fires with food, clothing, and other needs. With so much devastation and suffering there is tremendous need for aid, not only for immediate needs but also to rebuild our communities. Requests for assistance will be made through your local parish, and the funds will be provided as a one-time grant to those in need.
Mission Statement
To educate TK-Eighth grade students in a Catholic environment in which the curriculum emphasizes spiritual, ethical, and social values of the Catholic faith to become responsible and moral citizens within the global community.
Philosophy
Supporting the belief that parents are the primary educators of their children, we as educators at St. Dorothy Catholic School, dedicate ourselves to partner with the parents in preparing children to become contributing members of the community. To achieve this, we provide holistic development in psychological, emotional, social and physical health, with an emphasis on academics, faith, and Christian service.
In collaboration with parents, we champion student achievement through the presentation, practice, and study of Catholic doctrine, a strong academic curriculum, multimedia and multi-cultural experiences, physical education, extracurricular programs, and the dedicated commitment of the teachers and staff.
