Mr. Kirschenbaum, ELA
This week, we will explore what life was like for Ha in the refugee camps and continue examining her journey as a refugee.
Mx. Gomez, Math
Join us in celebrating the magic of Pi (π) on March 14th! To make this day extra special, we invite you to send your students to school with store-bought, nut-free circular desserts. Think pies, donuts, cookies, and more! Let's make this Pi Day a delicious and memorable one for everyone.
Thank you for your support and participation!
**Tutoring will be held on Tuesday this week due to a staff meeting happening Wednesday**
Math 6 this upcoming week will be continuing our practice with one step equations and solving for one step equations before we wrap up the week with a Formative!
Math 7 will have one more major practice day to prepare for their 2 day RCT this week. If students feel they would like some extra practice with Expressions, Equations and Inequalities, I highly recommend they visit me for tutoring.

Ms. Wesselhoft, Geography
We had a great short week introducing about market, command, mixed, and traditional economic systems.
This week, I am traveling with the 8th Grade Spanish trip to Costa Rica. I have left a packet of work to pace throughout the week. Students will read more in depth about each system and investigate case studies. They are to turn in their completed packets at the end of the week.
Students have been briefed about behavior expectations. They are to be productive and on their best behavior. Any negative reports will result in a whole class consequence. I have no doubt they should be fine because they are AMAZING young people, but the expectation has been set.
Ms. Sagan, Science
Last week students completed their Space Systems and Cycles summative. Currently, I have 17 students who either need to take the summative or complete it. Those who have not yet completed it will receive a WS until it is completed. THIS IS A TEMPORARY PLACEHOLDER GRADE AND WILL CHANGE AS SOON AS THEY FINISH THE SUMMATIVE!
Next week we will start the week off with our Term 3 Roots summative! Please encourage students to spend some time this weekend studying using their Roots organizers or the Blooket links below (also on Canvas):

After our Roots summative is complete, we will be coming back down to Earth to start our unit on Oceans, Atmosphere, and Climate, learning how the uneven distribution of the Sun’s heat causes weather patterns, ocean currents, and more. The week will include a lab about heat transfer, a Gizmo simulation, and more!
