If your child is sick, we thank you for keeping them home to keep others in our community well and to help your child get restorative rest in order to recover quickly. To return to school, a child must be fever- and vomit-free for 24 hours without medicine.

Returning to school after any absence requires a note or email with date(s) of absence handed in or emailed to your child's teacher. This written excuse is a State of California requirement. Medical or dental appointments during school hours will be marked as an excused medical absence ONLY if a dated, signed slip is brought from the doctor's office.​​

If your child is out for a medical absence, the absences are considered excused. The teachers will work with you and your child to stay apace with the missed work. Thank you for the efforts of each of your families to keep our school community healthy!

COVID 19: The guidelines for returning to school after a positive COVID-19 test are much the same as any illness now. A student may return to school after being fever free for at least 24 hours without fever reducing medicine, demonstrate symptom improvement, and be well enough to fully function and participate at school. See link from Santa Barbara County for more COVID-19 Protocol details. Residential households are eligible to receive 4 free at home rapid antigen Covid 19 test kits from USPS.com.

The week of October 21 news came out that our school uniform provider Dennis Uniforms is going out of business. We had already been in talks with another uniform company for next school year but are speeding up the process with this news. We have not received any information from Dennis about the news nor regarding pending orders. In the meantime, if you are in need of uniform items, we will do our best to find things from our uniform swap inventory.

Uniform Swap: We offer gently used select uniform items through our Uniform Swap. Contact Dora Jimenez with your child(ren)'s size to check our availability. Items purchased from the swap are just $5 each (exceptions: fleece jackets and sweaters $10).

We are grateful to you, our school parents, for your many hours of service to our school and students! To volunteer at school or for school events where children are present, you must complete the following requirements.

VIRTUS Guidelines: Annually you must sign/re-sign the VIRTUS form for Guidelines for Adults Interacting with Minors. Click HERE or scroll down to download PDF.

Field Trip Drivers: To drive on field trips, you must complete the Driver Info Form below and provide the school with a copy of your driver's license and insurance. Please fill in the form completely as not all of the required information is listed on your insurance card. Thank you!

Fingerprinting: You must have fingerprints on file with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Fingerprinting only has to be completed once during your time at OLMCS. Go to https://lacatholics.org/fingerprinting/ to view upcoming calendars of no cost fingerprinting sites hosted by local parishes in the Santa Barbara Region.

If you wish to use a third party Livescan vendor go to https://lacatholics.org/fingerprinting .

Then scroll to Download Applicant Questionnaire (THIS IS NOT YOUR LIVESCAN FORM), follow directions carefully, complete form and email to fingerprinting@la-archdiocese.org . The Archdiocese fingerprinting department will email to you back with a Livescan form to take to your Livescan fingerprinting vendor. Return a copy to the school office after completing your Livescan fingerprint session.

Extended Day Care (EDC) is provided each day after school until 5:15 p.m. To register for the 2024-25 school year, click HERE. EDC is offered on a monthly or drop-in basis. You can reach EDC after school office hours at (805) 220-0458.

See below for the 2024-25 Preview Calendar with a few additions (in red). This is a great calendar to print for the refrigerator or the family "command station."

Once again we will partner with Locally Grown Kids for those interested in purchasing hot lunch. Lunch orders will be available Monday-Friday this year. There will not be hot lunch on 12:20 dismissal days nor on dates of pizza lunch fundraisers. LGK offers delicious, a la carte lunch choices with easy online ordering. Ordering is open! See PDF below for their welcome letter and registration information.

*Be sure to complete the transactions for EACH of your children to ensure all lunches arrive and check your email for confirmation of the order(s).

Part of attending Catholic school is wearing a uniform. Students should arrive to school each day in a clean tidy uniform with shirts tucked in. As a reminder, shoes must also meet the school's uniform code. See image below for some common do's and don'ts to the shoe portion of the uniform policy. Students who are out of uniform code will receive a uniform reminder slip. Thank you for your attention to your child(ren)'s attire before they head out the door each morning!

OLMC Church: Our school is an extension of our church and the largest ministry in our parish. We encourage families to get involved in the many church events throughout the year and by attending mass regularly. Youth Ministry: Our parish youth groups M & Ms (Gr. 6-8) and MC Club (Gr. 5) are great ways for our students to have fun learning about their faith outside of school hours.
