CMIT North Academy will hold a field day for all students on June 7!
CMIT North Academy will hold a field day for all students on June 7! Students will have the opportunity to enjoy games, food, and friends during the school day. Students ARE permitted to dress down. NO HOODIES ALLOWED. Our school cafeteria will still provide the regular lunch menu during this day.
We will have 2 food trucks available for students. Food MUST be purchased in advance. There will be NO tickets or money exchanged on June 7. You MUST prepay for your food. The vendors are listed below and also attached for flavors:
Houey's Shaved Ice=$4 per serving
Shake & Serve Lemonade= $8 per serving
I have attached a flyer for each vendor. Houey's has various flavors that you may select from the day of. Shake and Serve Lemonade offers a 32oz cup (as shown in the flyer) and you can mix and match as many flavors as you would like.
You do not need to pick flavors until the actual day! You DO need to pay for your order in advance. To pay and receive a ticket for the vendor of your choice OR both vendors, please stop by Mrs. Upshaw's class room 221. Do NOT lose your ticket as you cannot receive an additional ticket unless you pay.

The class of 2025 will be celebrating the end of a successful school year at King's Dominion Amusement Park.
The class of 2025 will be celebrating the end of a successful school year at King's Dominion Amusement Park. The information about the trip is below:
Where: Kings Dominion Amusement Park
When: May 30, 2024
Time: Bus leaves at 8:15AM Leave Park at 4:15PM
Cost: $95 (covers park admission and bus transportation)
Deadline to Pay: May 17
The spaces on the bus are first come, first serve as we are only taking 2 buses. You can retrieve a permission slip from Mrs. Upshaw's classroom or print the form from this email. This trip will be opened up to other grade levels if 11th graders cannot fill the spaces.You MUST fill out and return both forms. Students are NOT allowed to go into the water park. They have access to the rest of the amusement park but are not eligible to go into the water area. They may participate in water rides, just not the actual water park itself.

Extraordinary Chemistry Honors Students Create Unique Mother’s Day Gifts!
In an innovative blend of science and artistry, our Chemistry Honors students at CMIT HS crafted delightful Mother’s Day gifts right in the lab! Using their expertise, they melted wax in jars, infused them with colors and scents, and carefully inserted wicks. Once the wax hardened, they added a special touch with charming Mother’s Day stickers.
Throughout the process, students explored the science behind melting and freezing, turning their experiment into an enjoyable learning experience.
Moreover, this project also sparked entrepreneurial spirit, as some students envision the possibility of starting their own candle business in the future!
On this special occasion, we extend our heartfelt wishes to all the wonderful mothers out there. Happy Mother’s Day!
