Superintendent Message
As I prepare to step away from my role as Superintendent of Lincoln Consolidated Schools, I am filled with gratitude and deep appreciation for this extraordinary community. Serving our incredible students, passionate families, and supportive community members—alongside our amazing Board of Education, dedicated administrators and caring staff —has been the greatest honor of my professional life.
Over the years, I have witnessed the spirit, resilience, and heart that define Lincoln. I will forever cherish the joy of watching our students learn, grow, and thrive; the tireless commitment of our educators and staff who give so selflessly; and the unwavering support of our families and broader community, who consistently come together in service of our kids.
Although my time in this role is drawing to a close, Lincoln will always remain in my heart. The relationships, the laughter, the hard-earned triumphs, and the shared moments of joy will stay with me always. I am profoundly grateful for your trust, your partnership, and your belief in the vision we’ve built together.
Please remember this: when you continue to put our kids first—and model kindness, compassion, and love—the sky is truly the limit for this amazing community. Every child can and will realize their full potential by living out the competencies in our Portrait of a Graduate.
As I begin the next chapter of my journey in retirement, I carry with me immense gratitude for the privilege of working with and serving you. This chapter has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
As I look ahead to my next journey, please remember—it’s not about the destination, but how we get there.
Splitter Nation will always hold a special place in my heart.
With deepest appreciation and love,
Bob
Exciting Developments at Bessie Hoffman!
Exciting things are happening at the Bessie Hoffman building on Willow Road! This summer, the building is being transformed to welcome a brand-new Career and Technical Education (CTE) program starting this fall: Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology.
Offered in partnership with the Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD), this course gives students an exciting opportunity to explore the world of aviation and drone technology. As our first official CTE offering, it marks the beginning of a larger plan to expand career-based learning opportunities for students across all grade levels in the years ahead.
This state-approved program will teach students how air travel works, both in the air and on the ground. They'll explore key parts of the aviation industry—how planes fly, how airports operate, and how air transportation businesses run.
One of the most exciting parts of the course is the opportunity for students to earn their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 Drone Certification. This valuable credential is recognized across the industry and can help students pursue careers in drone operations, aviation technology, and other fast-growing fields.
We’re proud to bring this opportunity to our students as part of our long-term commitment to real-world, hands-on learning. We look forward to seeing the program take off this fall—and this is just the beginning. More CTE pathways are on the horizon, giving students across Lincoln Consolidated Schools even more ways to explore future careers.
Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare Bessie Hoffman for this exciting new chapter in student learning!
Fall 2025 Student Medical Needs
Does your student have any medical needs or concerns? If your child has Diabetes, Seizures, Asthma, Severe Allergies, or any other diagnosis that will require assistance at school, we will need new medical forms prior to the start of the 2025-26 school year. Please contact your Doctor to obtain updated forms, whether it be: Asthma Action Plan, Allergy Action Plan, Seizure Action Plan, Diabetes Medical Management Plan, or other, and provide all medications such as Benadryl, Epi Pen, inhalers, Glucagon, etc, and include a Medication Administration Form. Medication Form Click Here
The Medication Administration Form must also be used for any prescription meds given at school or any over-the-counter meds to be given at school, and please send in the necessary medications, in their original container with your child's name. We want to ensure we keep your child safe at school and are able to provide the medical care they may need. Please send forms to District Nurse Christina Sperle at sperlec@lincolnk12.org, or you can bring completed forms to the school office prior to the first day of school or as early in the school year as possible. Thank you for your help in keeping your child safe and healthy at school!
Makerspaces Are Coming to LCS!
This summer, through support from Toyota Driving Possibilities, we’re excited to launch new makerspaces at Lincoln Middle School, Childs, and Bishop, and to enhance the existing space at Brick.
Makerspaces are hands-on learning environments where students can explore, create, and problem-solve using real-world tools and technologies. The goal is to spark curiosity, build confidence, and develop lifelong skills in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
These innovative spaces will feature cutting-edge tools like Bambu 3D printers, Glowforge laser cutters, Ozobots, CoDrones, Cricut machines, Padcaster media production kits, flexible seating, and more.
In addition to being embedded in our specials and elective classes, each school will also have a “Makerspace on Wheels” to help bring hands-on learning into classrooms across the building.
Stay tuned for more information and professional development opportunities through our partner, 1st Maker Space!
