TSIA
The Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2) evaluates students' academic skills in reading, writing, and math to determine their readiness for college-level coursework. At SA3, this assessment holds great importance, as it can impact students' opportunity to potentially complete an Associate Degree. We encourage you to discuss the significance of preparing for the TSIA2 with our students and have them attend at least two tutoring sessions before attempting the test again. Both school-day and Saturday testing options are available.
Next Available TSIA Date: September 26, 2024
Mission PD Student Safety Presentations
We are pleased to share that the Mission Police Department will be visiting our school to emphasize the critical importance of safety. Our goal is for students to understand the importance of immediately reporting any information they come across that might pose a threat to our school or anyone in the community. We remain committed to educating our students and community about the significance of maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. Thank you for your support in reinforcing this message at home.

Communicating Effectively with Your Teen
Effective communication with teenagers is key to building strong relationships. Here are a few tips to enhance your conversations:
Listen Actively – Give your teen your full attention without interrupting. This shows you value their thoughts.
Be Open-Minded – Try to understand their perspective, even if it’s different from yours.
Ask Open-Ended Questions – Encourage deeper conversations by asking questions that require more than a yes or no answer.
Stay Calm – Avoid reacting emotionally, and speak with respect and understanding.
Parent Workshops
We invite you to join us for our upcoming parent meetings! These meetings are a great opportunity to stay informed about important school updates, connect with other parents, and learn how you can support your teen’s success this school year. Our team will discuss key topics such as academic progress, upcoming events, and available resources. We encourage your participation and look forward to seeing you there! UIL Eligibility
UIL eligibility requires students to maintain passing grades in all their classes. If a student fails a class, they become ineligible to participate in UIL activities until they meet academic requirements during the next grading period. The 2nd progress report period ends on Friday, September 27, 2024, and this report will affect eligibility. We encourage all parents to access Skyward to keep up to date with our students' grades and attendance.

University Fieldtrips Fundraiser
It’s that time again! We are excited to start planning for our grade-level university trips. We understand the importance of exposing our students to different universities throughout their high school years, and we take pride in ensuring they visit a new campus each year.
However, we can’t do this without your support. Our fundraiser plays a crucial role in making sure all students have the opportunity to participate in these trips.
Students will soon receive a permission slip, which they must return in order to receive their 30 bags of popcorn to sell. Each bag will sell for $3.00, and we are aiming to make this fundraiser a huge success.
Thank you for your continued support!
