We can't wait to welcome all our Klenk students and families to Meet the Teacher. You may stop by any time between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Don't worry if you are not able to attend, we will have members of our team available on the First Day of School to help all students to get to their classroom.
Wednesday, August 14: First Day of School
We will open our doors beginning at 7:45 AM. School starts at 8:10 AM and concludes at 3:25 PM. Your child's teacher will ask how your child will go home on the first day of school and beyond. Please know that there are often delays on the bus route and car pool line during the first few days of school. If your child will be a car rider, you can pick up your number at Meet the Teacher or on the First Day of School.

Bus Buddies is a partnership between volunteers and Klein ISD to provide assistance to elementary students to help them get off of the bus at the correct location. This program requires one "Bus Buddy" per elementary bus the first three days of school (August 14 - 16, 2024). This approximate time commitment is from 2:45 - 5:00 PM.
Steps:
- Complete your annual KISD Volunteer Application (if you haven't already done so)
- Review the available slots here and click on the button to sign up.
School begins every day at 8:10 AM. Students are able to arrive beginning at 7:45 AM each day.
Students will need to wear closed-toe shoes on days that they have PE. Your child's teacher will share the specific days during Meet the Teacher so you can plan accordingly.
Families are invited to begin coming on their grade level lunch days after Labor Day. Thank you for allowing our students and teachers this time to establish lunchtime routines.
Car Riders. All students who are car riders will be assigned a designated number. New car rider numbers are issued each year. Parents/guardians can register for a car rider number during Meet the Teacher (Monday, August 12 from 4-6 PM) or on the First Day of School. Students must have a car rider number on the First Day of School.
Bus Riders. Bus Routes for the 2024-2025 School Year will be available August 5, 2024 on the KISD Website.
Walkers. All students who are walkers will received a designated tag for their backpack. Parents/guardians can register for a walker tag during Meet the Teacher (Monday, August 12 from 4-6 PM) or on the First Day of School.
