A Message from the Principal's Office
Dear MCE Parents,
As we begin the month of March, I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your commitment to your child's learning. During our recent AMI days, we saw exemplary attendance from our students. Your support in ensuring your child was present for these learning days was incredible.
We are proud to share that MCE turned in strong attendance averages for each day:
- Day #1: 83%
- Day #2: 91.41%
- Day #3: 89.55%
This level of participation speaks volumes about the dedication of our families, and we couldn’t be more grateful for your ongoing partnership in your child’s education. Together, we are helping to create an environment where students can succeed and grow, even in the face of challenges.
A big thank you to all the parents and VIPs who supported and attended the recent Girls VIP Night and Boys VIP Night! These events were a huge success, and your involvement made them even more special for our students. 💙💖
We are also excited to announce a new opportunity for our community: Starting now, you can walk in a climate-controlled environment at MCE every Tuesday and Thursday from now through the end of April. Whether you're looking to get some exercise or simply want to enjoy a comfortable walk indoors, we hope this gives you a chance to stay active during the colder months! See the flyer below for more details.
Be sure to mark your calendar for our upcoming PTO Carnival on April 25! It’s going to be a fantastic event, and we can’t wait to see everyone there. 🎡🎉
As we move into March, we are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to continuing our work together to support the academic and personal growth of every student.
If you have any questions or would like more information about upcoming events, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher.
Thank you once again for your continued support and for helping to make this school year a success!
Warm regards,
Jill Jacob
Principal, MCE

Let’s make this experience special by reading The One and Only Bob together as a school community!
Wildcat Award
Congratulations to Ms. Brittany! She received the Wildcat Award for February! Many people, parents and staff members had such kind things to say about Ms. Brittany. You can read her nominations below. We are thankful for Ms. Brittany and the dedication of all of our paras!
- "Miss Brittany shows up every day with a positive attitude ready to go. She does her best to help support the classroom and the students at all times. She has a quiet respectful manor that is calming and supportive for the students. We love her willing attitude to work hard and guide the students to always do and be their best. Than you for all your hard work."
- "She is always very enthusiastic about helping our preschoolers. She goes out of her way to ensure every child will be successful. Brittany deserves this award because she is helping to enrich the students outlook of not only school life but also by encouraging them to be good people in their community."
- "Brittany is a fantastic person in the preschool room! She is always so helpful and kind to all of the students. My son is in preschool and he always talks about how nice and helpful Miss Brittany is! I know with a class full of 5 year olds- things can get crazy, but she always seems so calm about everything."
- "Ms. Brittany is such an amazing para for the AM preschoolers. I have NEVER not seen a smile on her face. She helps in every way possible. She makes sure our kids are happy, safe, and learning!"
Principal of the Day: Henry Deering
On February 27th, Henry Deering was Principal for the Day! 🏫 He declared Pajama Day for all students and staff, and everyone came in their coziest PJs! 😴 Students also brought their stuffed animals and enjoyed a short movie. 🍿🎬

PTO Update
Hello MCE Families!
We would like to invite you to our next PTO Meeting on March 6th at 5:15pm in the Cafeteria. There we will be discussing the rest of the 24-25 school year, and changes that are coming with the PTO Board. At the January 2025 meeting we accepted the resignation of PTO President Stephanie Knoepflein and PTO Treasurer Debbie Knoepflein for the end of the current school year. We would like to Thank both Stephanie and Debbie for their many years of dedication to the MCE PTO Board and for the success of countless fundraisers and events. With the coming changes to the PTO Board we would like to invite families to learn the role that PTO plays in supporting the students, teachers, and staff at MCE and do our best to get everyone involved. We have created a survey to help see how to better reach and serve the MCE students and their families. Please take a few minutes to review and submit it so we know how best to focus our attention and support.
Sincerely,
PTO Board

🎉 February HOT HOT HOT Challenge! 🎉
In February, MCE celebrated classrooms that had all students Here On Time (HOT)—in the building by 7:50 am and in class by 8:05 am! ⏰👏
A huge shout-out to Mrs. Harms' 2nd Grade and Mrs. Lovato's 4th Grade classrooms for having the best attendance records! 🎉
- Mrs. Harms' class was on time 8 out of 13 school days
- Mrs. Lovato's class was on time 5 out of 13 school days
To celebrate, both classes earned a popcorn party! 🍿
We encourage all students to be in the building at 7:50 am to ensure they don’t miss any valuable instructional time. Being on time helps set our students up for success! 💪
