Principal Senethavilay's Update
September 13, 2020
Dear Pleasant View Families,
There has been a great deal of activity around the building this weekend as we prepare for our students. The teachers are putting the finishing touches on their room, preparing students materials, and finalizing their lessons plans and the landing pages for our remote learning. Again, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the long hours this staff has worked to open this building.
At this time, we are expecting poor air quality that may limit any time outside with students. Therefore, I have a second plan in place for student arrival. If we are unable to be outside, we will greet students on the east side of the building in the parent drop off area and escort them immediately inside to meet their teacher rather than meeting on the playground.
Please be sure to get your pictures and say your goodbyes quickly before you drop off. We will not be having parent enter with students in an effort to limit the individuals in and out of the building. As a parent, I know this is not ideal, but we appreciate your help and support with this procedure.
I have had many questions about the time students may be dropped off. Please do not bring students to school prior to 8:45 a.m. on any day (9:05 a.m. on Wednesdays) as there is no adult coverage. Our PM Kindergarten students may be dropped off no earlier than 12:40 p.m. each day. I ask that you take a moment to go back and familiarize yourself with the Parent Pick Up/Drop Off Map and expectations so that we can help keep traffic flowing and get students to and from school efficiently. (Again, thank you for your help!)
As of Friday, late afternoon, there has already been a change to the Alternating Team Schedule the district published. I am including the links to those new calendars. If you printed the last calendars, please recycle those and look at this new link.
Also, please remember that if you need to bring in medication to the Nurse’s office, you will need to complete the Medication Consent Form to be dropped off with the medication in the original contain with the prescription label that contains your child’s name and dosage. If you have questions, please contact Nurse Carrie at allumbaugh.carrie@westada.org.
We are all eager to greet our students and begin our first day in the building tomorrow. We wish you all a good night of sleep and an amazing morning getting ready. (For those that are joining us on Tuesday, this information will be the same and we will look forward to seeing you all soon.)
**Please do not forget to pack a water bottle for your child with their first and last name clearly marked.**
All my best,
Amy Senethavilay
