The Dawn of Quaranteaching!
You are probably aware now that WCUSD is moving from closure to dismissal. What does that mean for our students? It means starting Monday, March 30th, Mt. SAC Early College Academy teachers will be posting new content daily in their Google Classrooms. In addition, all teachers will be available daily (schedule is below) to assist and interact with students online. Academic counseling will also be available online by appointment.
Teachers are available online M-F
9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Math and Science
11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
English and History
1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
All other courses (Art, PE, Spanish, Study Skills, Journalism, CCR, ASB, Yearbook)
College Courses
Also beginning Monday, college courses will be going entirely online. There is a file below with instructions to access the student portal at Mt. SAC. Students will be responsible for accessing content and submitting assignments. College courses WILL BE IN SESSION during our Spring Break. Students will be responsible for accessing content and submitting assignments.
Will we still have Spring Break?
YES!! Spring Break is still scheduled for April 10th - 17th. High School teachers will not be posting content during that time.
Google Classrooms
Every Mt. SAC ECA teacher has a Google Classroom. These online classrooms have been available since the beginning of the school year. All Mt. SAC ECA students know how to access these classrooms and submit work.
Student Expectations
Mt. SAC ECA students have higher expectations for themselves than many of their peers. Our focus is always on learning, not schooling. The expectation is that our students are motivated to learn and will engage with the content; that they will interact with their teachers to enrich their learning experience. I have no doubt Mt. SAC ECA students will keep up with their classes and will transition into next year with no regression.
How do I get help with my classes???
Ms. Contreras is working on a Google Classroom for counseling services. She will also be available for real-time assistance by appointment during regular school hours.
