Dear VAP Families,
First, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the 3rd-5th grade families who joined us for the Sock Hop on Friday. It was a fantastic evening filled with laughter, music, and community spirit. Your support makes our school events truly special!
I would also like to congratulate our incredible volleyball teams for their outstanding performances as they wrapped up their season on Saturday. Their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship have made us all proud. A huge thank you to our coaches and parents for their unwavering support throughout the season.
Today, all students participated in an assembly for National Bullying Prevention Month called "Bye Bye Bully." This important event focused on fostering kindness and understanding, and we hope it will empower our students to stand up against bullying.
This week is also Red Ribbon Week, and we encourage everyone to participate in the spirit of the occasion! Please check out the dress-up days listed below and join us in promoting a drug-free lifestyle. Additionally, our middle school leadership team will be selling Red Ribbon swag for cash purchase. Details on pricing and other exciting events are included below.

Student Pick-Up Now In Gym Starting Today at 4:30pm

Red Ribbon Week- October 21st- 25th
This is a friendly reminder that this week is Red Ribbon Week, a time for us to come together and promote a drug-free lifestyle among our students. We encourage all students to participate in the spirit days and show their support!
Middle school leadership will be selling Red Ribbon swag during morning snack time on Tuesday and Thursday this week. Below are the items available for purchase, which will be cash-only transactions:

Family Project Idea: Red Ribbon Contest
Get ready to participate in the Red Ribbon Contest! Decorate your home’s front door, mailbox, or fence with a double-looped red ribbon, embracing this year's theme: “Life Is A Movie, Film Drug Free.” Gather your family for a fun decorating session, then snap a photo of your masterpiece. Parents can upload the photo, and then it's time to rally your friends and family to vote for your entry! You could win one of several exciting awards based on creativity, theme usage, and more. Mark your calendars: entries are accepted from October 1 to November 1, and voting takes place from November 2 to November 16. Winners will be announced on December 4.

Annual Pumpkin Showcase & Spooky Science- Thursday, October 31st
It's that time of year again! Below are the rules for our pumpkin showcase:
- Submission: All pumpkins must be brought to school before 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 31st.
- Pick-Up: All pumpkins must go home on Friday, November 1st.
- Drop-Off Location: Please bring your pumpkins directly to the blue-top area.
- Creativity: All sizes and shapes are welcome! Think outside the box—feel free to carve, paint, use colored markers, cloth, straw, plastic, and more.
- Family Involvement: This is a FAMILY FUN PROJECT! We encourage all family members to get creative and join in on the fun.
Let’s make this pumpkin showcase unforgettable!

Story Writing Contest
Calling all 3rd-8th grade writers!
California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom is hosting a Story Writing Contest for all 3rd-8th grade California writers.
The contest entails students writing stories (real or imagined) based on accurate information about California agriculture. One winning author is selected from each grade (3rd-8th). High school art students will illustrate the tales. Each winning story and its corresponding illustrations are then published in a book.
Authors and illustrators will travel to the State Capitol in March of 2025 to be recognized and celebrated during National Agriculture Week.
Winning students get:
- To be a published author!
- Their name in lights on the State Assembly floor and a tour of the State Capitol
- Travel expense voucher of $200
- The opportunity to see their story come to life, as illustrated by high school art students
- Take home a large poster of their story's cover page
The contest is currently open and accepting submissions.

Homework Club Pick Up Information
Reminder: Please try to refrain from picking up your child during Homework Club hours, as this time is dedicated to completing homework and catching up on assignments. If you need to pick up your child early, we can make exceptions, but this shouldn't become a regular occurrence.
Starting now, the office will no longer call students out of Homework Club from the office between 4:15 and 4:30 PM. Please go to Gate B to pick up your child during this time.
On Fridays, simply go directly to Gate B for pick-up during homework club hours, as it’s Fun Friday and students will be engaged in various activities throughout the school. Thank you for your understanding!
Important Tuiton Info
Please note the following important information regarding tuition payments:
- Late Fee: If your tuition is not paid by the 5th of the month, a non-reversible late $50 fee will be applied on the 6th.
- Payment Plans: If your tuiton balance remains unpaid by the 15th of the month and no prior payment arrangement has been made with the office, your child will not be able to attend school until a payment plan is established or the balance is settled.
