Copper Beech Parent Update
Week of June 10, 2024
Principal's Message
Dear Copper Beech Families,
Our student performances during the Spring Music Concert this past week were delightful. We loved hearing their voices and seeing the joy on their faces as they proudly played their instruments to the student and parent audiences. They practiced so hard to prepare, and it was clear how much their families enjoyed seeing them perform at the senior high school.
On Tuesday, it was heartwarming to see all of the Seniors and their families visiting our school with pride. Our younger students were very excited to cheer them on as we played "Pomp and Circumstance," and they paraded around the school. Our graduating seniors were excited to visit their old classrooms, and there were many emotional displays of hugs and tears.
As the year is winding down, we are filled with joy as we celebrate the Publishing Center, enjoy Hula Lessons with the Kona Ice truck, and cheer on the Second Grades at the Potato Olympics. Seeing so many families join us at our Publishing Center event truly creates a vibrant and engaging atmosphere here at Copper Beech. It's a delight to see the students interacting with their classmates and parents and everyone relishing the last days of school. We look forward to celebrating the last few days of this school year with your child this week.
Have a lovely weekend!
Best,
Ms. Stokes

Second Grade First Annual Potato Olympics
Our second graders participated in the First Annual Potato Olympics this past week. Pictures from this event are above. This special event was an idea developed by the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute. The event is a fun and engaging way for students to explore numeracy by participating in Olympic events through their specially created potato athletes. Each potato athlete represents a different country, similar to the athletes who compete in the Olympics. Our second-grade teachers went all out to make this a special event for our students, from the opening ceremony, where students passed the torch and cheered for the beginning of the games, to the decorated bulletin boards, potato-themed math activities, and, of course, the gold, silver, and bronze metals!
