Action Required! Final Deadline for Vaccinations!
Please ensure all vaccinations are up-to-date according to NRS!
1. In accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 439.550, a child may not be enrolled in a public school within the State of Nevada unless a parent/guardian submits to the Board of School Trustees of the school district in which the child resides, a certificate stating that the child has been immunized and has received proper boosters for that immunization or is complying with the schedules established pursuant to NRS 439.550.
2. According to Nevada state regulations, all students entering the 12th grade are required to receive the meningococcal vaccine prior to the start of the 2024 – 2025 school year.
- This requirement, which went into effect July 1, 2022, is for all public, private, and charter schools across the state.
- Parents/Guardians have until Wednesday, August 28, 2024, to provide immunization records/proof of vaccines to designated school offices.
- Beginning Tuesday, September 3, 2024, a student may not attend school until the required immunization records are presented to school personnel.
- Parents/Guardians have 20 school days to provide the required immunization information before their student will be withdrawn.
- A student may be excused because of religious belief or medical condition by completing the State of Nevada Preschool-12th Grade – Religious Immunization Exemption Certificate. This form must be completed and submitted annually no later than November 30, 2024, to school offices.
- See the attached document from CCSD from more details.
- Questions, Contact Assistant Principal Jenny Valdez at valdejm@nv.ccsd.net
Parking Changes for the 2024-2025 School Year & Evening Performance Parking
Due to the new building construction, available LVA parking has been cut in half. Please review the parking areas and map at https://www.lasvegasacademy.net/post/parking-changes-for-the-2024-2025-school-year
Student Class Schedules and Schedule Changes
SCHEDULE CHANGES - Students who think they are academically misplaced in a class or have an error on their course schedule must complete a Counselor Appointment Request Form in the Counseling Office. This is the last week to check with counselors regarding any schedule change or appeal.
Students MAY NOT leave class to go to the counseling office unless a pass has been sent from the office for the student.
Questions? Contact Angela Graham at 702-799-7800, ext. 4200, or email grahaaj@nv.ccsd.net.
Bus Transportation Information
Parents/guardians of students in the Clark County School District (CCSD) can find transportation information on the CCSD website at transportation.ccsd.net at lasvegasacademy.net or call 702-799-8100. For LVA-specific bus transportation information contact the Student Success Office at 702-799-7800, ext. 4500.
Important Need to Know Policies, Procedures & Student Handbook
The LVA Student Handbook includes important expectations, policies, and procedures for students. Parents/guardians and students are expected to read, review and discuss these expectations at the beginning of the year. The handbook, expectations, policies and procedures are located online at lasvegasacademy.net, under Students/Parents.
Student Safety Reminder! Student Deliveries Procedures
For safety, students are not permitted to receive any third-party deliveries of any kind. Neither students nor parents/guardians may order food to be delivered to the student(s) for lunch. LVA does not have the resources or ability to verify the safety of the delivery/or person delivering. Delivery of food, gifts, balloons, flowers, and other non-instructional items takes away from the school’s ability to focus on instruction. Parents/guardians needing to deliver a forgotten lunch or any other conservatory item (dance shoes, costumes, or instruments) or academic work may check in at the front desk to make arrangements.
Student Safety Reminder! Dropping Off & Picking Up Students
Parents/guardians and student drivers are asked to take extra caution this year [and every year] when dropping off students and picking up students around LVA. Due to construction, lane closures, and limited parking, please read the following carefully.
- Do not drop off students before school on 7th Street, and the corner of 7th and Bridger Streets. These are bus drop-off locations and the corner is very congested.
- Do not pull into faculty parking lots to drop off or pick up students.
- The best drop-off locations are on Clark Street in front of both Theaters, Lewis and 9th Streets, 10th Street, and Bridger Street by the Frazier Bldg.
- Do not stop in the middle of the street/lane to let out or pick up your student. Please find a location and pull to the curb.
- DO NOT pass buses with their RED STOP sign/art and flashing red lights.
- Failing to Stop For a School Bus – Nevada Law. Passing a stopped school bus that is displaying flashing lights is a misdemeanor in Las Vegas carrying a $305 fine and four (4) Nevada driver's license demerit points for a first-time offense.

That includes helping their classmates use the BigFuture® School mobile app to access their PSAT/NMSQT® scores, connect with nonprofit colleges and scholarship providers, and get career and college insights. Ambassadors also empower their classmates to use BigFuture.org to find careers, colleges, scholarships, and more.
Ambassadors are part of a national community of hundreds of students who connect with each other through Zoom meetings and support each other via Discord.

Marketing Instructor Mr. Moukad Named Stukent® High School Teacher of the Year
Every year, Stukent® recognizes an outstanding high school educator who exemplifies Stukent’s®
core values and mission to help educators help students help the world. This year, we are thrilled to spotlight Adam Moukad, a marketing teacher at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, as Stukent High School Teacher of the Year.
Adam’s career is marked by numerous significant achievements. Among these, his role as a DECA Advisor stands out. He has guided three students to become international trophy winners, showcasing his exceptional mentorship and leadership in marketing education. Additionally, Adam has served as an AVID Coordinator and an IB Career-Related Programme Coordinator, roles that have allowed him to shape student success beyond the classroom.
For Adam, the most rewarding aspect of being an educator is “watching students’ joy as they accomplish a project that was challenging, yet rewarding.” This passion for fostering a positive and impactful learning environment is evident in his teaching methods and his students’ success.
By teaching at a school where students major in vocal performance, dance, and theater, Adam finds a unique synergy between the arts and social media marketing.
“These art kids are already trying to sell their own art and want to be the next YouTube star,” he said. “Teaching them social media marketing makes perfect sense.”
