WEMS Raider Newsletter
September 06, 2024
From the Principal's Desk
Good Afternoon Raider Families!
With a slightly shorter week, we have a bit of a shorter newsletter for everyone.
We are half-way through the first quarter of the school year ALREADY and Mid-Term grade reports will be available on Monday. We ask parents and guardians to look at your child's grades and help us ensure students are completing their assignments fully and timely as well as getting the enrichment and support they need both during school and after school in our ESS program on Thursdays.
We began our 2024-2025 Extended School Services this week and were thrilled to see a good number of students staying after to get some help in their core areas. Our goal is to have 100% of assignments done by 100% of our students. For those that need this additional support, ESS will meet every Thursday in the WEMS Library for 7th and 8th grade students. No transportation is provided and we do ask for parents to pick up their child promptly at 3:30pm.
We sent home our Title 1 Compacts for parents and students to sign. These compacts are agreements between our students, our parents, and us to help ensure we stay together on always doing what is in the absolute best interest of our students. If interested in learning more about Title 1 and how the federal funds are spent at WEMS, we are holding a public meeting on Monday, September 9th, at 4:30pm in the WEMS Library.
Thank you for all your support of our students and WEMS! Have a great and safe weekend.

Principal
Extended School Services
Thursdays 2:30-3:30pm
Parent pick-up is required for all students for ESS.
Student Transportation Changes By 1 PM
Any changes a parent needs to make to their child's transportation need to be called into the front office by 1:00pm on the day of the change. Feel free to call us at (270) 843-0151 to let us know if you child is changing their afternoon mode of getting home.
Weekly Focus For Our Families
WE want every student, teacher, and faculty member to believe in each other and to have a true sense of belonging here at Warren East Middle School. To help make this a reality, we offer a wide array of academic classes, various levels of sports activities, and several extracurricular opportunities. The one area we believe we have been lacking in are CLUB opportunities for our students. We've had a couple of clubs in the past but we heard from our students last year in our Principal's Luncheons that more was needed so we got to work and planned through the summer. We are excited to announce our WEMS Club Rush on September 19th!
We want every student to be involved on a team, a group, or a club. We want EVERYONE to be INCLUDED in as many ways as possible!
How to be involved begins by visiting Club Rush and signing up! It really is THAT EASY!
Unless otherwise stated, all games will begin at 5:30pm.
