Chalk the Walk at CAS!
Help get the CAS sidewalks ready for the big day! Come Chalk the Walk on Monday, September 2nd from 6:30-7:30pm. Feel free to bring chalk and optional gloves to help keep your hands clean. Text David Duran at 973.610.5607 or email caspto@gmail.com with any questions.
🌟 Six Day Elementary Letter Day Schedule 🌟
It is important that all families take note of the Elementary Letter Day Schedule that maps out all the letter days for the entire school year. Parents are encouraged to print the letter day schedule as a reference. This is especially helpful if you have music lessons or want to know when special area classes are being taught throughout the year.
👉 Don't forget to complete your student's Arrival & Dismissal Form
This form is mandated and due to the classroom teacher the first week of school.

Reporting your child absent
The CAS Roll Call number is (973) 593-3173, press #1. A parent or guardian must call this number by 8:35am. Students are not permitted to call to report their absence. A parent must accompany a student to the Main Office and sign the student in after the 8:35 am late bell. In order to avoid missing instructional time, students must be in class by 8:30am.
THE LATE BELL IS NOW 8:35 AM!!!!!
Note from Nurse Young - Medication
If your child requires medication at school (Epi-pen, inhaler, oral medicine etc.) you may drop off their medication on the first day of school to me or the school secretary. Please place it in a ziplock bag labeled with your child's and teacher's name. The medication should be in the original container along with the doctor's order/note and a recent picture of your child.
Enjoy the rest of the summer. See you soon.
Nurse Young
P.S. If your doctor did not fill out the district Medication Administration form, the information on a prescription pad or office stationery is acceptable if signed by the practitioner.
See below to download additional medication forms.
Your PTO dues are Appreciated!!
PTO dues support activities including monthly assemblies, enrichment programs, and teacher appreciation and supplies to name a few. The suggested amount is $40 (more or less as your circumstances allow). We are requesting additional $10 per family if you have a child in 5th grade to help cover the cost of graduation-related celebrations.
You can pay online here or via Venmo @CASPTO
Volunteer Opportunities!
Want to know how to help volunteer in your child’s school? Here are some opportunities for you to join.
PTO Volunteers - VICE PRESIDENTS
We’re looking for two parents to join as this year’s incoming PTO vice presidents. In this role, you’ll shadow current presidents Dawn Ellis and Pat Attenasio, then take over as co-presidents for the 2025-2026 school year. It’s fun, rewarding and your kids will be proud! Please email caspto@gmail.com with any questions.
Library Volunteers
As a volunteer, you get the wonderful experience of seeing the students in school and working with our Librarian Mr. Paradiso. Email libraryvolunteercas@gmail.com to sign up!
Lunch Volunteers
Fall sign-ups are now open! Volunteering during lunch is a great way to see your children in their school day habitat. Parent volunteers assist in opening up lunch items, keeping the lunch lines moving, and ensuring the students clean up after themselves. Lunch begins at 11:15am and ends at 12:45pm. Please sign up for one slot to ensure all parents have ability to volunteer in this aspect.
