The Good News November 3, 2024
St. John XXIII Catholic School
Leadership Message
As we enter the month of November, we reflect on the theme of love and connection found in this Sunday's Gospel, Mark 12:28-34. Jesus reminds us that the greatest commandments are to love God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength and to love our neighbours as ourselves. This message resonates deeply as we continue our journey together this school year. In our school community, love and support for one another create a space where each child is valued, nurtured, and encouraged to grow.
This week, we have a unique opportunity to come together for Parent-Teacher Interviews, a time to celebrate and reflect on each student's progress. Students have brought home their Evidence of Learning portfolios, which showcase the knowledge and skills they have developed since the start of the year. We can witness each child’s unique learning journey through these portfolios and celebrate their successes.
As we move through November, may we be inspired by today's Gospel’s message, fostering love for God and others in all that we do.

Grade 4 Insight Testing
Insight is a group-administered test of cognitive abilities, which will be administered to all Grade 4, classes in EICS in the middle of November. The assessment is designed to measure cognitive abilities including reasoning, comprehension, memory, and visual/auditory processing. Students do not need to study for the Insight and the results do not impact their school grades. The results provide information about students’ cognitive strengths and areas of weakness to best support and program for all learners. For more information, please visit https://canadiantestcentre.com/cognitive/insight/”. If you have any questions, please contact Kendra Rossignol our school's Inclusive Learning Facilitator.
