HALO NOTES
St. Louis Catholic High School - Thurs. May 2, 2024
Mind, Body, and Spirit...
As a reminder of what sets SLCHS apart, is our approach to education - Mind, Body, and Spirit. This starts with the faculty and staff! Being BIG HEARTED or Magnanimous is one of our core values, and this week has proven that our faculty steps up over and over. Please take the time to thank them for giving their very best. Next week, we will celebrate all faculty and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week, not just the teachers, but the whole team. Custodians, front office staff, clergy, etc. Together, we rise to each challenge given to us for the love of our Saints. With the Holy Spirit as our Advocate, we cannot fail. See below for magnanimity as an SLCHS educator:
Magnanimity
Magnanimity literally means “of great soul” or “big hearted.” It is the willingness to “go the
extra mile” (Matthew 5:41) when the letter of the law does not require it. This virtue will entail
several areas:
- Work ethic – a willingness to provide more and not less to one’s students, taking extra time and attention with those who need more care, being well-prepared for lessons and practice, and calling students to the same standard.
- Speech – speaking well of other people, giving each other the benefit of the doubt, and avoiding gossip and detraction.
- Service – volunteering to fill in a need, being available to help for activities, events, and having a positive attitude when acting as substitute or doing extra duty.
At all times, the SLC educator strives to model Christ, who “emptied Himself” (Philippians 4:7)
so that we could all be enriched.
The Tradition Continues!

Let's celebrate their dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to the success of our students!
