Ockley is receiving multiple upgrades as a result of the 2020 Bond. The ADA updates include ramps, a lift for stage access in the Auditorium, furniture & lighting in our classrooms that serve students receiving Special Education services, improved accessibility in some restrooms and updated parking spots in the staff parking lot.
Just recently, the installation of security cameras throughout the interior and around the exterior of the school has been completed. Our Administrative team and Campus Safety Agent are the only staff that have access to review camera footage from all cameras. While we have access to immediately review camera video, which will help support student safety, it is the ability to expand the number of views by our office staff to include some key exterior doors that will result in us being more aware if a student was to leave campus. In regards to the exterior cameras, we have had a recent break-in to our Portable and have experienced multiple car break-ins and theft over the past 2 years. I am thankful for the cameras as deterrents, as well as the footage they can provide in the case of damage or theft around the outside of the building.
