UNES REDHAWK REVIEW

Dear UNES Families,

With a heavy heart, I write to inform you of my decision to step down as principal of UNES. Tomorrow night, I will be appointed to be the new principal at Park Avenue School in Port Chester. On a personal level, this new role brings me closer to my daughter in Rye and elderly parents in Port Chester, but it is also a homecoming as Port Chester is the community where I grew up.

These past two years have been an incredible journey, filled with joy and pride as I’ve had the privilege to work with an outstanding team of educators, administrators, parents, and the most wonderful students. In fact, my collegial relationships here have truly been a bright spot in my career, and I will cherish the memories we’ve created together. Please treat your educators well, give them grace, and express gratitude whenever possible as UNES grows through its challenges.

Despite any challenges, I am immensely proud of the work we’ve accomplished these last two years. At UNES, excellence is the rule rather than the exception, and this is a testament to the dedication and passion of our staff and students, and the support of our parent community.

As I transition out, I urge all parents to continue supporting our incredible educators, while you demand excellence, at all levels, for your children. Your continued commitment and encouragement are vital to maintaining the high standards we have all worked so hard to achieve.

Our Annual Kindergarten Moving Up Ceremony will be held in the ALL PURPOSE ROOM (Cafeteria) on Tuesday, June 18 at 9:30am. Two tickets will be sent home to kindergarten parents next week.

Our 5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony will be held Friday, June 21 at 9:30am in the All Purpose Room (Cafeteria). Two tickets will be sent home to 5th grade parents next week.

Here are the STUDENT DISMISSAL TIMES for the last two days of school:

June 25th:

HS: 10:30am

MS: 11am

Elem: 11:45am

June 26th:

HS: 9am

MS: 9:30am

Elem: 10am

• Wednesday, June 19 - JuneTeenth (No School)
• Friday, June 21 - Grade 5 Moving Up Ceremony @ 9:30am / Grade 5 Graduation Dance (5:30-7:30)
• Tuesday, June 25 - Half Day (AM ONLY) - DISMISSAL AT 11:45AM
• Wednesday, June 26 - Half Day (AM ONLY) - DISMISSAL AT 10:00AM
