Academics-PreACT Follow Up
PreACT 8/9 Score Reports and Pathways Selection for Freshmen
By 12/6, freshmen will receive their PreACT 8/9 score reports and have a lesson to help them understand their results.
On their score reports, there will be a Career Map that shows possible career areas that may interest them based on their responses to an inventory they completed prior to testing.
A Central High version of the Career Map has been created to show how each CHS Pathway lines up with the ACT career areas.
This information may be used to help assist students in their Pathways selection, which will occur prior to Winter Break.
In the coming weeks, please have conversations with your freshmen about this important academic decision. It will influence experiential learning opportunities and the selection of one elective course per semester in Grades 10-12.
A full listing of CHS Pathways may be found here: CHS Pathways Listing.docx
More information about using PreACT 8/9 results may be found here: Using Your PreACT Results.
PreACT Score Reports for Sophomores
Prior to Winter Break, sophomores will receive their PreACT score reports and have a lesson to help them understand their results.

Late Arrival Attendance and Check Out Procedures
Attendance Number: 531-299-2669
Reminders from the Attendance Office:
- If your child needs to leave for an appointment, please give us a call at 531-299-2669 at least 30 minutes before you pick up your child. This will give us time to get your child from class and be ready to send them out to you.
- If you do not call before 2:15pm, please come in the building to check out your student.
- If your child arrives to school between 7:41 and 9:05 they are to go directly to their 1st block class and use the QR code to check in for the day. This is important so their attendance is recorded accurately. Please encourage your child to complete the process.
- If your child arrives to school after 9:05 they should check in the attendance office before going to class. Please remind them to do this so we can record attendance accurately.
- Doctor notes must be turned into the office within 7 days of the absence to be marked as an excused medical absence.
Well done, Eagles! Keep it up! Every minute counts!

Featured Department: International Baccalaureate
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)
The IB Diploma Programme is a two-year (11th and 12th grades) cohort program focused on the whole student. Students take courses in six subjects through a rigorous, project-based, writing-intensive curriculum, that culminates in a series of exams at the end of their senior year. IB approaches holistic education through a focus on global, moral, and ethical issues and on experiential learning.
International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP), the only IBCP program in the state of Nebraska
The new IB Career-related Programme serves students with career-specific goals, blending CHS’s Career Pathways academic courses with practical skills and industry experience, making it a strong choice for those seeking direct routes into specific fields or careers, while still benefitting from the academic rigor expected in all IB programs. Its customizable program differs from the IB Diploma Programme, but both maintain a focus on ethics, reflection, and global mindedness.

Drop off and Pick Up
Thank you for your help with morning drop off on 22nd and James Fous St in the morning. We appreciate your cooperation so our students can be dropped off safely.
- Slow down and remember to stop at the security guard and wait for direction. Students are crossing and safety is our first concern.
- When dropping off on James Fous there are two lanes. To keep traffic flowing please have your student be ready to get out of your vehicle quickly. You will then turn north onto 22nd Street. You do not need to be in the front of the line for your student to exit the vehicle. Anything you can do to speed up the process is good for all Central families.
- Parent vehicles are not permitted in the faculty/staff lot at drop off and pick up.
