Being the 8th grade teacher is full of so many emotions during the school year. You put your heart and soul into a class knowing there is a MAJOR goodbye at the end of it. I have known of these students for years, but have never had them in my classroom as my students. (With the exception of two boys who were in my first preschool class here at St. T!) If you've been at St. Therese long enough, you know I have taught many of the students here at this school! I was excited and nervous all at once as the year began last September. After a few months of getting to know each other, testing limits, and finding ways to work as a class, the class became very close with me and with each other. There were many good times, as well as hard times, but together, this class showed me how special they really are. They are funny, hard-headed, passionate, and protective of one another. Some of the bonds and friendships this class showed me are examples of friendships and love that I hope my own children experience with their friends. While I will miss this class more than I can express, I wish them all the best as they venture into the world of high school. Be on the watch, they will do amazing things.

Graduation is Tuesday, June 11th, at 6 pm in the school gym. All are welcome!

Dear parents,

First, let me take the opportunity to thank you for a wonderful first six months at St. Therese! If my smile from 8:00 to 8:15 each day doesn’t betray how much I love seeing your kids at drop off, then I don’t know what would. I can’t say that I know all of their names, but I do know all of their faces. I thoroughly enjoy being here and am a bit sad that I won’t see most of them for the summer months.

That said, I would like to invite your children to a few days of summer camp that my community, Family of Mary, is hosting. We are doing it in conjunction with St. Henry and St. Joseph the Worker parishes but everything will take place at St. Therese.

From June 24-27 there will be a day-camp for children 1-5 grade from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will divide up into groups and rotate between a number of different activities such as crafts, games, and of course catechism. We will have Holy Mass each day with the liturgy being prepared by one of the groups. There will be more precise information as the week comes closer, but we ask that you register your children by this coming Sunday, June 9. Please, see the attachment with the QR code or go to: https://signup.com/go/MRvdyGy In addition, we will be having a one-day camp for middle and high school students on Friday, June 28 from 9 – 3. Since this is the first year we have offered such a camp, we have limited the invitation to our three parishes and St. Therese School. If the kids enjoy it, we hope to expand next year!

Already now, I wish you a safe and restfully summer, enjoying perhaps the beauty of God’s creation outdoors and most certainly the love found when you gather together as a family.

On Tuesday, our 3rd graders visited Omsi! In 3rd grade, they learn all about the Portland Bridges, so 3rd grade also got the chance to walk along the waterfront to check out a few of the Portland Bridges!

Our yearbooks are on the way to St. Therese! Order your yearbook today! Forms have been sent home by teachers.

On Thursday, our first graders had a field trip to OMSI! With Mrs. Estes out sick. Mr. Schoning and Mrs. Radford stepped up, along with many chaperones, and took the students to OMSI! What a fun day!!

• June 12th- Virtues Awards after Mass

• June 13th and 14th - Free dress for all students. Please bring in clothes from the uniform exchange, so that other families may take advantage.

• June 14th- Last day of school PreK-7th: Noon Dismissal NO EXTENDED CARE.
