EXPLORERS WANTED! Get ready to understand present and future career options and the skills needed for success.
Students entering 8th grade in the 2024-2025 school year and current Woodlawn High School students are invited to participate in free, career exploration camps this summer.
Hosted on Woodlawn High School's campus, campers will engage in hands-on learning, field trips, and career related math and English skill building. Students may sign up for one camp only, since most camps overlap.

Camp Logistics Information
- Parent must secure transportation to drop off and pick up their child from Woodlawn High School.
- Students may be dropped of beginning at 7:50 am. Students will not be allowed to enter the building before this time.
- At 8:00 am students will be dismissed to their camp locations from the cafeteria or for field trip departure, if applicable.
- Camp will end at 1:00 pm. depending on individual camp schedules. All students will await pick up at the drop off location.
Apprenticeship & Trade Career Exploration Summer Camp
Students will explore trade and apprenticeship careers.
- Students will explore careers in the field of trade and apprenticeship.
- Students will visit work sites related to trades and learn the skills needed to advance in the field.
- Students will review their 6-year plan.
Students may sign up for one camp only, since most camps overlap.

College Tour Exploration Summer Camp
Explore programs at local colleges and universities through an in-person camp located at Woodlawn High School.
- Students will tour local colleges.
- Students will explore programs and majors at each school.
- Students will meet with admissions representatives.
Limited spaces (25 seats).
Trips will include tours of Towson University, University of Baltimore, McDaniel College, and much more.
This camp is for HIgh School Students.Students may sign up for one camp only, since most camps overlap.

Real Estate Careers Exploration Camp
Explorers will learn about careers in the real estate industry. Field trips will offer an opportunity for networking and hands-on experiences.

Explore careers in the hospitality industry through hands-on activities and projects.

Military Careers Exploration Camp
Visit with recruiters and learn about careers in the military while participating in field trips that illustrate our rich military history.
- Middle and high school students will be introduced to careers in the military.
- Students will learn about the skills needed to be successful in all branches of the military.

- Students will discuss challenges facing this career field
- Students will take career assessments.

STEM Careers Exploration Camp Utilizing Vex Robotics 2024 - 2025 Game
Students will learn about STEM careers using the Vex Robotics game for the 2024-2025 school year.
Middle and high school students will be introduced to STEM careers.
- Students will learn to use the Engineering Process.
- Students will learn to build and program a robot.
- Students will review their 6-year plan. ·

Business Careers Exploration Camp
- Students will take career assessments and engage with speakers from the business community. · Students will take on the roles of business leaders.
- Students will start a business.
- Students will review their 6-year plan.
- Students will learn about the importance of certifications in Word and Excel.

Engineering Career Exploration Camp
Engineering careers exploration camp is for students interested in STEM careers where they will apply the engineering design process to design challenges, 3D modeling and printing solutions. Students will engage in hands-on activities and attend various field trips to explore engineering careers. This is a 3-day camp, June 24 -28th.
