Reminders
Attendance Policy
The Code of Conduct states that when your child has been absent, the parent/guardian must provide, in writing within 3 days of the student's return to school, an excuse which includes the following:
- A statement from the parent or doctor stating the reason for the absence
- The date of the absence
- A handwritten signature by the parent (if it is a Parent Excuse)
Student Services has emphasized the fact that we must have the excuse within three school days of the child's return. Anything sent after that will NOT be accepted and the day will be left as an Unexcused Absence.
Please refer to p. 59-63 in the Code of Student Conduct on Hoover City Schools website for further
information on excused/unexcused absences, tardies and checkouts. Thank you in advance for being mindful in this matter.
Device Policy
No smart watches or phones are allowed at school.
Daily Reading
Remember to read daily to and with your child!
Virtual Parent/Teacher Book Study
Join our administrators, Mrs. Posey and Mrs. Phelps, and our counselor, Mrs. Tanner, for a virtual parent/teacher book study of the book The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness by Jonathan Haidt.
