Proviso East Band & Choir Visits Our Feeder Schools!
Job Well Done Proviso East Marching Band & Choir!
The Proviso East Marching Band and Choir recently visited Irving Middle School, Stevenson Middle School, and Washington Dual Language School to perform for the 7th and 8th grade students. Their performances made the last day of school for the 8th-grade class more special and memorable, and also highlighted the various activities available to students who joined.
Additionally, we shared information about our summer band camp, Freshman Connection, Summer Sports Camp, and Newcomers Camp. The feedback from all three schools was overwhelmingly positive, with everyone loving the performances. We saw students and staff dancing and singing with enjoyment and even had the opportunity to sing Happy Birthday to a newcomer from Cuba. Each building expressed interest in having the band and choir return in the fall.
I want to extend a huge heartfelt thanks to Mr. Seals, Mr. Johnson, and Ms. Welte for their unwavering dedication and hard work. Their willingness to travel for several days, adjust to each middle school's schedule, and make each performance unique to the body of students truly made this event a special treat. We also thank Mr. Hull for his willingness to continue to support the effort in strengthening the relationships with our feeder schools.
Lastly, I want to also thank the principals of Irving, Washington Dual Language, and Stevenson for welcoming the Pirates into your building. You all are truly wonderful to work with, and I appreciated the opportunity to witness the 8th grade students cross the graduation stage on Thursday. Celebrating with the students, family, and District 89 staff was terrific.
