Principal's Corner
Hello, Curington Families!
We hope your Thanksgiving Break has been relaxing and full of joy! We will begin a new month next week, and we are only about three weeks away from ending the first semester of this school year! Thank you for your support as you stay connected with us each week. Classes will resume next Monday, December 2, 2024. Begin to talk to your child about their return date so they can begin to get ready for a new week. Below we have important campus events and information. Please take some time to review and read through our campus news.
Have a great weekend!

As our Curington Elementary School families attend large events like Dickens on Main and our Boerne Christmas Parade, please be aware of this important new resource.
Boerne ISD and partner businesses are proud to work together to provide safe locations for students in need.
The Empowered Partner Program is designed to create a supportive and safe environment for our students. Through this program, local businesses and organizations become safe zones where students can seek help if they are in need of assistance. These partners are easily identifiable because they will have an Empowered Partner sticker on their door or window of their location.

Life Skills Holiday Expo
Give a little, grow a lot!
We are excited to share that our Life Skills classes are participating in the Holiday Expo again this year: we’re planting and selling live succulent plants! This hands-on activity is part of our program’s efforts to teach valuable skills while raising funds to support our Community-Based Instruction (CBI) trips and classroom supplies.
Spread the word: Let colleagues, friends, and family know about our succulent sale! Thank you in advance for supporting our class and helping us provide these meaningful learning experiences for our students.

Looking for Career Day Speakers
Parents,
This year we will have a "Career Day" for our students at CES; our tentative date is February 14th, 2024. In order for us to provide a powerful learning experience for all, we are planning ahead and asking our parents for assistance in this endeavor. We want to know what our students' parents do for a living and if they are willing to come and share their experience in their specific field with us. If you are willing and able to participate in our special "Career Day" this year, please complete the following form.
Note: This is for the purpose of identifying our options only at this time and does not bind you to any commitment. After we gather this information, we will then reach out to select parents to plan our presentations. This interest form will be open from November 18th through December 18th .
Thank you!.

Attending School Regularly
Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance.
- Excused or unexcused absences represent lost time in the classroom and lost opportunities to learn.
- Official attendance times are 10am for Elementary and 10:30am for Secondary.
- Appointments should be scheduled at the start or end of the school day to be counted as D=Doctor Appointment Same Day and not as an absence. Students must be present a portion of the day for a D absence code.
- If the student is out the entire day, they are absent.
- Every student's situation is different. If there are barriers keeping your student from being at school, please reach out to us.
