Stay Warm This Winter with HEAP Assistance
As the winter season and low temperatures set in, families are reminded that they may be eligible for assistance through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). HEAP is a federally funded program designed to help low-income households manage the cost of home energy, especially those who spend a significant portion of their income on heating.
Emergency HEAP applications are now being accepted. To apply or learn more about eligibility, please visit www.mybenefits.ny.gov or call 315-963-5021. Applications for first and second emergency HEAP are now being accepted. Don't miss this opportunity to ensure your family stays warm and safe this winter!
988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
We understand that the holiday season and the school year can be challenging for many students. To support your child’s well-being, we partner with several outside agencies that offer mental health counseling services during the school day. These services are designed to provide students with convenient, confidential support to help them manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges. If you are interested in learning more about these services or exploring options for your child, please contact Erica Freeborn at (315) 625-5258 or your child’s school counselor for more information. We are here to help ensure every student has the support they need to thrive.
Additionally, we want to remind families that the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7. This free, confidential resource provides support for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis, or emotional distress. Simply dial or text 988 to be connected with a trained counselor who can offer immediate assistance. Your family’s mental health and well-being are a priority, and help is always just a call away.
We are offering 211, a free service, that connects callers to critical health and human services in their community. Find the resources you need!
A navigator will provide resources that could help you. If you’re unable to find a service, please dial 2-1-1 for assistance.
