No School - Mon, Nov. 2nd (Parent/teacher conferences) and Tues, Nov. 3rd (Professional development)
Trimester 2 Begins Mon. Nov. 9th - Registration is now open! We have our most diverse number of classes ever, with opportunities to accelerate in credits, to take a course with an actual rocket scientist, and to help write and illustrate a student magazine! But in order to offer all these amazing courses, we need students to sign up ahead of time.

Project Showcase!
Below are some of the promo posters that Mr. Clark's photography class has produced to help promote the program. Nice work! We will be sharing projects in future newsletters since we are not currently able to showcase them in person.
Trimester 2 Classes:
- Construction Design and Maintenance - Taught by technical skills and trades teacher, Mr. Buchanan. Learn the skills of both designing and building projects from scratch!
- Adventure Academy - Taught by Onward and Upward and Mr. Clark. Lean archery and the character traits to take the lead in life, and find the quiet peace of mind to hit your bulls eye. This is a five-week intensive class where students can earn a full credit! Attendance is critical.
- Illustration and Creative Writing - Taught by Ms. Dishneau two days a week, and Ms. Lisa Boswell two days a week. These classes will work together to learn the art of writing for publication and illustrating stories as they create the next edition of the Wolf's Howl!
2 Day Classes
MONDAY/WEDNESDAY CLASSES
- Health Studies and CPR - Taught by Nurse Soeder. Learn how physical health, psychology, and certain habits combine to form a person's overall well being. Also receive certified CPR training!
- Battle of the Books/Book Club - Taught by Ms. Lisa Boswell. Choose to either participate in a knowledge competition of a set of novels, or read books together for the joy of discussion and analysis!
- Everyday Science - Taught by Mr. Nashold. Learn science through a series of builds, challenges and experiments and learn the interesting science behind some everyday things. This counts as a science elective.
TUESDAY/THURSDAY CLASSES
- Robotics - Taught by Ted Shreve, former rocket scientist who designed the landing rockets of the Mars Rover. Students will learn to code, design, and operate robots for competition! This counts as a science elective.
- AK Wildlife - Taught by Ms. Harper. In this class students will learn about the variety of wildlife and ecosystems of our great state of Alaska. This counts as a science elective.
- Public Art - Collaborate as a class as you work on projects to display in public, focusing on the school. Add to the artistic flavor of our school!
Tutoring and Academic Support
- Summit Tutoring - Tutoring by Ms. Magoon. Students will be able to work either independently or one-on-one with Mrs. Magoon to catch up, clarify material, or to get ahead.
- ABLE Extended Hours - Tutoring by Ms. Magoon and Ms. Anna Chebukina. For ABLE students who need more hours to catch up on credits. Fewer students in the PM will allow students more accessibility to teacher help.
