3. Challenge yourself to try something new and break free from your comfort zone.
4. Reflect on your growth and appreciate how far you’ve come this year.
5. Seek warmth in meaningful connections and nurture the bonds that uplift you.

Hello folks,
Welcome to the 12th edition of Dorm Happenings. This was a short and sweet week here at Howser Dorm on the campus of KSB.
Please see attachments for the November Recreation Schedule
The students were back on campus Tuesday evening Nov. 5th, and we had a great meal prepared by our dorm staf, then, we discussed some US and Kentucky history and the importance of US citizens voting in all elections, local, state and nation. We briefly discussed the difference in electoral votes in each state and the popular vote election. After the meal and discussion, the students went to the recreation gym, and we had a birthday party for Annashae, The students and staff enjoyed cake and ice cream. The students played games in the recreation gym. On Wednesday after supper in the cafeteria we had a scout meeting with scout leaders, Mr. Ottis, Larry and I.. The students spent time learning about first-aid and how to wrap bandages on a cut, burn or abrasion. The students learned about assessing the injury, calling 911 or getting help from another adult. The students practiced wrapping injured head, arm and hand. Also discussed the workings of an ice pack and were to apply a cold compress to an area with a sprain or strain. Evie and Hayden really took on leadership roles in assisting injured person and helping scout leader adults. On Thursday night after supper our dorm elementary students discussed safety protocols on bike riding in the gym, how to use helmets and to follow directions on space awareness and utilizing sound in the area. They also spent time using touch to find out about possible ceramic pieces that they could make for Christmas. When the middle and high school students came to the recreation gym, they picked out ceramic pieces that they wanted to begin making for Christmas. After that they played in the gym and relaxed in the TV room watching the Big Screen TV. All the students had an opportunity to make and drink some root-beer floats. They also got to finish off the last of the birthday cake.
It has been a very short week here at Howser dorm, but we were very busy with the influx of a large group of elementary students in our short course program. We will also have another full week of elementary short course next week.
Until Next Time.
