Principal Message
May 9, 2025
Dear Roadrunner Families ~
On behalf of our entire staff, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for the incredible week of appreciation you provided. From the Buckaroo Breakfast to the Nacho Bar, the watering hole lemonade stand to the trail mix Happy Trails bar, and of course the Chuckwagon Lunch, every detail was thoughtfully planned and joyfully received. We closed the week with Dynamite Desserts that were delicious and explosive (in a mouth :)).
Your creativity, generosity, and care made all of us feel deeply valued and celebrated. The western theme brought smiles, laughter, and a sense of community to our staff room every day. We especially appreciated the sweet treats, kind messages, and the time you took to make the week so special.
It truly means the world to know we have such a supportive PTA and family community behind us. Thank you for being our partners in this work and for always showing up in such meaningful ways.
With gratitude and appreciation,
~ The Renton Park Staff

2025-2026 Class Placement Process
The classroom placement process is complex and many factors impact the decision-making process. Enrollment and staffing numbers are not considered accurate until August, and even then, they can change. We strive to create and maintain classroom environments that are warm, structured, nurturing, caring, supportive, and challenging for every child.
Our staff takes class placement very seriously. The task for each grade level team is to develop balanced classrooms based on the knowledge they have about the students. We assure you that each grade level team (with assistance of specialists, counselor, admin team, etc.) take much time, effort and care in developing class rosters that result in offering all children a quality educational experience.
As parents, you have pertinent information to share as well! Coming home NEXT WEEK is a family input form where we're asking you to complete with the following information:
- Plans for 2025-2026 school year (returning or NOT returning)
- Any other important information to consider during the placement process (i.e., please separate my twins).
- NOTE: Information specifying specific teachers by gender, experience level or name will not be considered.
Input forms will be accepted through Friday, May 16th.

LET'S TALK!
Did you know spending just 5 minutes a day listening and talking to your children can have remarkable results? Having short, meaningful talks can build family bonds, give children a strong sense of support and self confidence, and strengthen their communication skills.

School Breakfast/Lunch Meals FREE
Thanks to a state and federal funding, Renton School District will again provide breakfast and lunch meals free to most students this school year. All students can eat school breakfast and lunches free except at Risdon Middle School, Hazen High and the H.O.M.E. program. Unfortunately, the federal Community Eligibility Provision formula left us unable to include these schools.
Important note: While not required for free school meals, families are strongly encouraged to complete this Child Nutrition and Education Benefit form to help students and families receive important resources like: before and after school academic and enrichment programs; resources for classrooms; guidance and college counselors; health and wellness services; state summer grocery debit cards (SunBucks), and more. Submit your completed form to RSD.mealform@rentonschools.us or drop off at your school.
MAY Lunch Menu
REMINDER: Please complete the Meal Application! It is available at https://www.rentonschools.us/ departments/nutrition-services-warehouse/meal-applications. All students at our elementary schools receive one free breakfast and lunch each day. However we ask for you to complete a meal application in order to ensure your child's school qualifies for federal and state funding that is determined by parent income levels. You may also be eligible for other benefits such as reduced fees for programs and activities.
