Algonquin Family News
Algonquin Pre-K Families,
We are so excited to enter into this partnership with you to provide a foundation of success for your child! Our TEAM here at Algonquin is ready and equipped to work alongside you.
YOU are the MOST critical part of your child’s TEAM! Take advantage of our many events throughout the year to build an excellent foundation for lifelong learning.
We THANK you for your support in getting your little ones to school on time every day, checking bookbags before and after school, and communicating with your child’s teacher.
If you are willing to take on a leadership role in our school please think about joining our Parent Advisory Council and help us plan events. Or, you may want to join our playgroups to meet other families and learn more about your role as CEO of your child's educational journey. We hope you can join us in the evenings for Early Childhood Network nights for fun and learning.
However you can be a part of our TEAM we are happy to have you on our side !!

Blue Point Safety Drill
All schools in Park Forest – Chicago Heights School District 163 are equipped with the Blue Point Alert System. Blue Point is a life-safety response system with components that look and function much like a fire alarm system but it is designed for police and medical emergencies. Activating the system will instantly alert police or paramedics in the event of a life-threatening emergency.
We have a long-term commitment to providing a safe learning environment for all who enter our doors and have installed the Blue Point Alert System to complement and enhance the safety and security measures we have in place.
The Blue Point System:
Automates and accelerates emergency response
Provides internal communications for our leadership team
Improves situational awareness with real-time information for police or paramedics
On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, staff and students will participate in a safety drill. Prior to this, students will receive information from their teacher about the drill. As required by Illinois School Code and District 163 Board Policy, the drill will involve the police department to ensure that we are as prepared as possible
What are we serving this month ? Breakfast and Lunch Menus
Family Partnerships - How can you help?
Supporting Adult-Child Relationships
Young children thrive when the adults around them show they care. Young children learn they have value and develop a sense of self-worth through warm interactions with primary caregivers. Your children learn from your words and actions whenever they are with you. - Kindergarten Moments
