BOOK FAIR
Apparently parents can order at any time, but the actual book fair will run from 12/9-12/13, online only (since PTO is also having Santa Shop that week). And any orders placed will be shipped to the address given at check-out, not to the school. Parents just need to enter their email address and then they will have to enter the school name to select Miami Elementary in Clinton Twp MI.
Here is the link to order books from https://literati.com/fundraise/
Just a reminder, any transportation questions can be direction to transportation. Their contact number is 586-723-2160.
Another reminder, no one should be on school grounds during school hours, that includes SACC hours. This means no one should be playing on the playground from 6:45 AM-6:00 PM.
During pick up, non Miami children must stay in the car, be with a parent and cannot be on grounds other than waiting at the door with a parent for a Miami student. This includes middle and high school students as well.

If you need to change the way your child will be dismissed from school, please email the following email addresses with the new plans and we will contact the teacher and student. For example, your child was taking the bus but is now parent pick up or walker or your child was parent pick up and now is a walker.

FOOD SERVICE
Michigan School Meals will be the policy for the 2024-2025 School Year. The Michigan government has funded the school meals for Michigan Public School students that are not covered by the Federal Reimbursements. This means all students will eat their breakfast and lunch at no cost. Michigan School Meals is a Michigan initiative however, all USDA guidelines and regulations are still in effect. This includes still requiring families to fill out an Education Benefits Form.
While the Education Benefit form help with student eligibility for school meals and summer EBT qualifications, they are more important for other school programs. If the number of applications decline, funding for some programs can be lost since the overall funding for schools is based on the number of Education Benefits Forms turned back into Food Service.
To see if your family qualifies for additional benefits, please fill out a free/reduced application at chippewavalley.familyportal.cloud. Applications are good for one school year and should be completed each year unless you are notified that your child qualifies for free/reduced meal benefits for the current school year.
