First and foremost, we'd like to thank parents, Solon staff and the students for the overwhelming support this year. None of what we do would be possible without your support, participation and fundraising.
We gained many new families with the redistricting, the building itself was changing before our eyes...change just seemed to be all around us this year. We questioned old ideas and traditions, things that just always were. We rolled with new ideas.
The graphic below shows the breakdowns of how we raised money and where we allocated it. A couple things to highlight:
1. We raised over $26,000 this year, that is over $10,000 more than the previous year. We are beyond blown away and so incredibly thankful for everyone that helped us achieve this.
2. The Dine to Donate Nights were an incredible success this year. We surpassed past years by double, maybe even triple.
3. Read-a-thon! Wow, we just had no idea it would be that well received by students/families and teachers. We were blown away by its success.
We won't kid anyone, not one of us volunteered for the pay. But all the work we put into everything was always worth it when we saw the students having a blast at all of our events, hearing the laughter and giggles during birthday sundaes every month...that's why we do this.
