A message from me...
Good afternoon!
I hope everyone has a great three day weekend! We completed the end of the quarter on Thursday. First Quarter report cards will be available next Friday. This is a good time to take a look at your child's grades and discuss progress. If your child is an athlete, please remember that students must be passing five (.5 credit) courses each quarter.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the teacher. Our next Parent-Teacher Conference Night is on Thursday, Nov. 7 (3:00-6:30pm). The easiest way to contact the teacher is through Infinite Campus or Staff Directory. If you have concerns that are in multiple classes or more global, please contact your school counselor.
We appreciate the collaboration with our families to support our student success.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
Mike
Thursday at all three lunches we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month! It was a great celebration planned and run by our Multicultural Club. It was a great day!
In an earlier version it was noted that AYU organized the event. It was the Jerome Multicultural club that planned and ran the event. My apologies.
Next Week at a Glance
PSAT-Tuesday, Oct. 22
On Tuesday, October 22, the PSAT/NMSQT will be administered to all 11th grade students and registered 9th and 10th grade students. To accommodate testing, all DCS high schools and Emerald Campus will operate on a three-hour delay.
- For students who use district transportation services, buses will run both at their normal pick-up times and on the three-hour delay schedule. This provides flexibility for students to either arrive at their regular time or follow the delayed schedule. Students who arrive at the normal time will have a quiet space to study or work while testing takes place. Breakfast will still be available.
- Once testing concludes, the school day will resume as usual at 10:55 a.m. for the high schools and 10:50 a.m. for Emerald Campus, starting with 4th period. The remainder of the day will follow the regular bell schedule.
Senior Yearbook Photo Day
All Seniors are asked to take a photo that will be used in the year book. This is the first of 3 opportunities for Jerome students. Students that attend Emerald Campus or CCP should make arrangements to attend on one of these dates. Next Date is Friday, Nov. 1

UPCOMING EVENTS
Save the Date! Redistricting Public Input Session on October 21
Dublin City Schools invites you to a public input session on Monday, October 21, from 7-8:30 PM at Jerome High School. While our school is not directly impacted by the upcoming boundary changes, the event is open to all. Cropper GIS will present in the Center for Performing Arts (CPA), followed by a review of proposed boundaries in the Commons. We value your feedback as we work to balance student populations and plan for future growth!
SENIORS: Early Action Deadlines
As we are nearing some of the Early Action Deadlines, we wanted to remind you of a few things!
- In order to send your transcript package, we ask that you complete your Senior Inventory. It is located in your To Do List in SchooLinks. If it is not completed, this could delay your transcripts being sent to your colleges.
- Once your Common App and SchooLinks accounts are linked, counselors can then send your transcripts. You do not need to request them to be sent.
- The Parent Brag Sheet is required only if you need a counselor or teacher letter. It is also located in the To Do List in SchooLinks.
- The Common App Counselor Recommendation Form automatically populates in SchooLinks if the college requires it. This is NOT the same as a counselor letter of recommendation. If you would like to request a counselor letter of recommendation, you need to talk with your counselor. We will NOT send a letter of recommendation unless it is requested.
- Please allow 15 school days for counselor letters of recommendation and 10 school days for transcripts.
Reach out to your school counselor if you have questions. We are here as little or as much as you need us!
Semester Exams Dec. 17-20
At the end of the 1st semester students will participate in Semester Exams. This year exams will be on Dec. 17-20. We will be on an adjusted schedule to administer the exams. As you are preparing for winter break activities here are some guidelines that we will follow for exams:
- If your child is going to miss exam week for any reason, please contact our attendance office to do a pre-arranged absence.
- Neither students nor staff can reschedule an exam without administrator approval.
- Students leaving early for winter break will take exams WHEN THEY RETURN. We will run a make up exam schedule on Jan. 7-10 for students to complete any missed exams.
- Rescheduling exams for convenience is not permitted.
If you have specific questions, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

- Cars in Lane 1 should leave the lot via Aisle 3 (dark blue arrow)
- Cars in Lane 2 should follow the outer loop to exit. (light blue arrow)
- Aisle 2 will be blocked to all cars
North Entrance (green arrow) cars will merge into Lane 1 and follow the outlined pattern for drop-off. (dark blue arrow)
Students will still walk through the lot to enter the building and may pass in front of your vehicle. We ask that all drivers remain attentive and patient when exiting the area. Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and efficient process for everyone.

Senate Bill 29 - Notification Regarding Device Monitoring
In compliance with Senate Bill 29 (SB29) and federal regulations, Dublin City Schools is providing this notice to inform families about the monitoring of school-issued devices. As a participant in the federal E-Rate program, Dublin City Schools adheres to the requirements of the Child Internet Protection Act (CIPA). This means that the district has an internet safety policy in place, which includes measures to block or filter access to inappropriate online content. Beyond compliance with CIPA, Dublin City Schools utilizes monitoring tools through our technology provider(s) for other permissible reasons as outlined under SB29 (ex: location tracking, web-browsing activity, and other student interactions with school-issued devices). These monitoring practices not only help in filtering content and alerting designated school personnel to potential threats, instances of violence, or indications of suicidal or self-harm ideation, but they also assist teachers in ensuring that students remain on task during class. These measures support the safety, learning, and productivity of our students both online and in the classroom. If you have questions about this notice, please email us at info@dublinschools.net.
