SC Business Week 2024 Scholarship Opportunities for Students
In its 39th year, South Carolina Business Week, presented by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, is back by popular demand. The primary objective of South Carolina Business Week is to impact knowledge about entrepreneurship and the American free enterprise system to high school students. The success of South Carolina Business Week is largely due to the interest shown by principals, teachers, and school counselors.
We are excited to partner with the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business who will host our students on the Columbia campus again, in 2024.
Over the years, principals, teachers, and counselors have provided the attached Business Week Flyers to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who currently obtain a 3.0 GPA or higher (Other GPA’S will be considered by recommendation letter). We want your help by displaying our enclosed poster in your school and providing the enclosed Business Week Flyers to your top-notch students. Please see the 2023 Business Week Program Report for a brief overview of what is expected during this week long program.
South Carolina Business Week awards three college scholarships totaling $12,000 to deserving students each year. The scholarships are the S. Hunter Howard, Jr. Business Week Scholarship ($5,000), the Ron McNair Leadership Scholarship ($5,000), and the SC Chamber Leadership Scholarship ($2,000). Students who receive one of the first two scholarships must attend an in-state college or university in order to receive the scholarship money. Students are required to submit a separate scholarship application, which will be mailed to them once they are accepted into the South Carolina Business Week program.
Businesses throughout the Palmetto state will provide sponsorships to those selected. The only cost to the student will be a $75.00 application fee. The application deadline is April 30, 2024. Students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please encourage your students to apply early for space is limited. We want your school to be represented at Business Week, July 14-19, 2024.
Should you need additional information, feel free to call 803-255-2616.

Selective Service Registration
By law young men within 30 days of their 18th birthday must register with the selective service. Why is this so important? Because every year, tens of thousands of men turn 26 years of age who failed to register, by then, the registration door is permanently closed. That means they are unable to receive federally funded college loans and grants; are unable to get into federally funded training and certification programs;
are barred from all federal employment, etc.
Go to https://www.sss.gov/Home/Registration and take 45 seconds to register.
It’s the law and it may save you a lifetime of headaches.
