Wiggin Street Parent Update

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

A picture is worth a thousand words! The videos and pictures in this week's update give you a glimpse into our students' week, and what a wonderful week it was! Check out some of the Math-a-thon rewards that happened, and next week will be the soccer and volleyball reward.

Next Monday night, our school will share at this month's School Board Meeting about our Peer Mediator Program during our annual building report. Mrs. Carlson and I look forward to highlighting this successful program along with Keaton and Delaney Newell. I will share the slideshow presentation with you all next week.

Don't forget to buy Valentine's cards! Our class Valentine's Day parties will be on Tuesday, February 14th.

Students have enjoyed participating in the Math-a-thon Sport Rewards. This week some played basketball with MVNU players and coaches and/or tennis with Kenyon players and coaches. Today, some students watched a karate demonstration and learned some self-defense moves.

Next week, students that won the bowling reward will receive permission slips on Monday. Parents are being asked to pack students a lunch or have them order a cold lunch. On the permission slip, we will need also your students' name and shoe size for bowling shoes.

Please remember that students will go outside on days where the temperature with wind chill accounted for is 20°f and above. Be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather each day. Coats, hats, and gloves are necessary at this time of the year. Boots are required for playing in the snow. If you need assistance with winter outerwear for your child, please contact our school, and we will happily find warm clothes for them.

For pick up, please do not arrive until 3:30. There is no stopping, standing, or parking on E. Brooklyn St. allowed. Also, please reminder that our school is an Idle-free Zone. Protect our children and the community by turning off your engine.
