LHS TIGER TALK
November 17, 2023
LHS Parents,
It was a great week but clearly everyone, including staff, are excited about Thanksgiving Break. I hope you and your entire family have a great holiday together and enjoy some incredible family time together. Make some memories and enjoy being around the people you are most thankful for!
Celebrate Grandparents and Great Influences
Loveland City School District is launching a new effort to recognize the importance of grandparents and other older community members. “Grandparents and Great Influences” events will be taking place at Loveland High School on December 12 from 9-10am. Each student will have an opportunity to spend time at school with a grandparent or another person who has been a great influence in their life.
This will be in the cafeteria where students will be able to sit with their special person. There will be the opportunity to have their picture taken together, enjoy some donuts, and listen to a musical performance by some of LHS’s best.
There will be more information and a form to fill out to RSVP in the December 1st Tiger Talk.
Yours in Education,
Dave Spencer
Principal, Loveland High School

Still Two Shows Left Tomorrow, Saturday, November 18th!
LOVELAND HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTS THE HILARIOUS MUSICAL, SOMETHING ROTTEN
In Shakespeare’s time, there may have been something rotten in Denmark, but there will be something wonderfully entertaining at Loveland High School, this weekend, November 17th-18th .
Over 60 students are involved in the fall musical production, Something Rotten. The show is an homage to Shakespeare and the wonderful world of musical theater, poking fun at both of them while writing a love letter like no other. Shakespeare is the bomb, the Elvis of Renaissance writers, and the Bottom Brothers are trying desperately to compete in the London theater world. Nick spends his life savings to visit a soothsayer to find out what will be the future of theater and beat out the bard. And it’s MUSICALS!
Not to give too much away, but tap-dancing eggs at a wedding feast try to work in as many musical
references as possible.

Important News from the Office of School Counseling
Loveland High School is serving as a host site for ACT prep with LEAP, leading up to the state-sponsored test for juniors that takes place on Tuesday, February 27. Please see this link for information about the dates, times and registration process for this course.
Loveland High School is very thankful for the opportunity to partner with the Miami Township Fire & EMS Department to offer students a chance to be involved in “Rescue Services 101”, a job shadow program designed to give students who are interested in public safety a behind the scenes look at emergency services. Students that choose to participate will spend an afternoon/evening working with firefighters/paramedics.
There are eight dates available. Students are given an excused absence for any time that is missed during the school day. Most shadow experiences take place from 1:00pm-6:00pm, but this is flexible. Saturdays and Sundays are available if needed.
Please complete this form and print and sign this consent form from Miami Township; both are required for participation. Leave the dates blank at this point. The consent form can be given to either Mr. Mitchell or Mrs. Hildebrand in the school counseling office.
Mr. Mitchell will reach out to the student to set up a date for the job shadow once both forms have been completed. Feel free to reach out to mitchedr@lovelandschools.org with any questions.
