A Note from our Principal
Greetings, WPA Families,
Restaurant Night
We thank everyone who joined us for dinner at Chick-fil-a last night. We appreciate the support for the school. We look forward to seeing you again on October 20th at Cafe Rio in West Bountiful next month. It is an all-day event from 11 am-9 pm so that you can join us for lunch, dinner, or both!
Volunteering
WPA has a long history of amazing volunteers making a vast difference in the education we offer students. We naturally saw a dip in volunteer hours in the past few years with the impacts of Covid 19 on our community. We are very excited to be jumping into this new school year with lots of resources and tools to help support parents in making this meaningful difference in our community. We aim to have 4000 volunteer hours this year to build back to our pre-covid numbers. You can support us in meeting this goal by checking out our updated volunteer website or following one of the links below.

Class Placement and Beginning of Year Assessments
Placing students in the right classroom environment ensures their individual needs are met. We are proud to be a leading school in South Davis County for student growth. We feel that a combination of classroom placement, robust support programs, and a strong intervention model are a cornerstone of this success. We use a variety of assessments and careful thought and consideration in class placements each year. Still, we recognize that it is normal and expected for students to grow and develop at different rates. One summer can impact growth for a student as well. With that in mind, we start each school year by reassessing students (and again in January) to ensure that our program works for ALL students. While we often get the placement right, there are occasions when we need to change a student’s classroom to meet their needs best. We are always happy to give additional information about class placement. If you have questions regarding your student’s class placement now or throughout the year, please contact Mrs. Pilkington.
