As we move into the Christmas season, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for sharing your children with us here at North Elementary. Our students have grown so much already and I look forward to seeing how much more they will continue to grow as we move into the second half of our year. Thank you for your continued support!
Christmas Break is December 23rd-January 3rd. Students will return to school on Monday, January 6th.
Report Cards will be sent home on Wednesday, 1/15.
Our First Semester Awards Day will be on Friday, 1/17 in the gym. Kindergarten will be at 8:15, first grade at 9:30, second grade at 10:40, third grade at 12:20, and fourth grade at 1:35.
There will be no school on Monday, 1/20 in observance on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
3rd graders will be taking their NC Check In 2 in Reading on 1/21, and in Math on 1/22.
Friday, 1/24 is the 100th day of school.
4th graders will be taking their NC Check in 2 in Reading on 1/28, and in Math on 1/29.
K-4 Dental Screening will take place in the afternoon on Wednesday, 1/29.
Class Photos will be on Thursday, 1/30.
As you're cleaning out to make room for new Christmas presents, please consider donating any clothing, shoes, etc to the North Clothing Bin located in our car rider line near the playground. North receives money for every pound of clothing collected. We appreciate any donations!
As a reminder, North has been approved as a CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) School again for the 2024-2025 school year. This means ALL students will receive free breakfast and lunch each day. As always, extras will be available to purchase. We will continue to use the LINQ Connect system for cafeteria purchases. Use this website to create an account.
Parents, I would like to remind everyone that students should not be dropped off in our front parking lot or on Ramseur Street in front of the school. This is a huge safety concern. Please make sure they are dropped off in the back of the building in the car line. Our line moves quickly!
Lastly, parents, please make sure you have your ID with you if you're coming to school to eat lunch or check out your child. Our sign-in/out system requires a driver's license or ID to be scanned. We strive to keep our students safe. This is one additional step we can use to ensure the safety of everyone here at school. Please share this information with anyone who may come to school to eat lunch with your child. Please note that visitors are not allowed to go to classrooms after lunch. Please say your goodbyes in the cafeteria. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
