We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and patience during this time.

Dear Galena Park I.S.D. Parents and Guardians,

I cannot thank you enough for the support you have shown to Galena Park I.S.D. during the COVID-19 school closure. Working together, we can ensure your child(ren) receive all the help they need to have the most successful Spring semester possible, despite the challenges life has thrown our way.

In recognition of all the work you and your child(ren) have been doing to keep up with your jobs and schoolwork, please use this week's long weekend (holidays for Good Friday on April 10 and the day after Easter, Monday, April 13) to rest and enjoy the company of those close to you.

You and your loved ones continue to be in my daily prayers. I wish all of our GPISD students and families the best physical, emotional, and mental health during this challenging time. I urge you to continue to adhere to the Stay Home, Work Safe order issued by national, state, and local authorities, for your safety and that of others.

April 6 through April 10 is Assistant Principals Week and we want you to help us celebrate virtually! Let your child's creativity shine by creating posters and putting together a 15-second video to thank their campus assistant principals for their hard work and dedication.

We cannot wait to share your videos with all of our assistant principals!

The final distribution of paper packets of instructional materials will be TUESDAY, April 14, 2020. Please note, this is not the usual day of packet distribution due to the Easter holiday. This distribution will include enough materials to cover the rest of the school year.

Thank you for your patience and support as we have worked to ensure all of our students have the tools they need to be successful.

The Technical Support offered is to assist students with accessing District resources; the support is not provided as technical support for personal hardware.

Special Request - A parent of a Galena Park ISD student may submit a Special Request Transfer for their child/children to transfer from a zoned campus to a campus of their choice (except closed campuses). Special request transfers will only be considered during a designated time period for academic, safety and special program reasons.

This system is used for emergency messages, as well as general information of interest to parents.

Our database is updated daily from our student management system and our employee database. We strive to comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and promptly remove incorrect numbers when we are notified.

Parentlink users can opt back into:

• Phone calls: Call the Blackboard Phone Hotline at "855-502-STOP (855-502-7867)" from the phone line that has been opted out.

• Text (SMS) messages: Reply START to "60680" from the phone line that has been opted out for non-emergency messages. Reply START to "54968" for emergency messages.
