HFRCS Newsletter November 19, 2024
SY 2024-2025 Vol. 4 Issue 11
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we all prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, we are reminded of the many ways that we are blessed by God. As a school, we are preparing to be a blessing to others, by sharing our bounty with others through our Thanksgiving Food Drive. Non-perishable items that each class is assigned (list available in this newsletter) are due tomorrow, Wednesday, November 20. Donations of turkeys, cash and gift cards are due on Thursday, November 21. Since all meals will be sorted and bagged and will be picked up by our parishes and community friends on Thursday afternoon, no late donations will be accepted. Thank you in advance for your generosity to our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.
This evening at 6:00 PM in our Large Hall we will be hosting an information session for the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. EITC enables businesses and individuals to turn their state tax dollars into scholarship money for our school. If you own a business or know someone who does and would like to learn more about how you can participate in the EITC program, please attend this evening’s session OR contact our Advancement Director, Mary Ann Conway (maryann.conway@hfrcs.org).
Next Tuesday, November 26, we will have our Annual Turkey Bowl. The Turkey Bowl is the culminating activity celebrating meeting our school-wide Hawk Walk goal and is a flag football game featuring students versus faculty. This year, our 3rd grade students will be presenting a special halftime show featuring their project on parade balloons. All are welcome to attend. The Turkey Bowl will take place at 1:00 PM. It is also a $1 Dress Down Day with your favorite team jersey or spiritwear theme.
On Wednesday, November 27, we will be having an early dismissal. PK students will be dismissed at 11:00 AM and students in grades K-8 will be dismissed at 11:30 AM. Parent pick-up will be required for all students, EXCEPT those riding Pennsbury buses. There is NO afterschool CARES that day.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty
We are a family of FAITH!
Remember to go to Mass this weekend.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
The following items have been assigned for the schoolwide food drive:
PK/K: Cake/brownie mixes
Grade 1: Boxed potatoes
Grade 2: Canned vegetables
Grade 3: Canned fruits
Grade 4: Turkey gravy and cranberry sauce
Grade 5: Stuffing
Grade 6: Canned vegetables
Grade 7: Soup
Grade 8 and faculty/staff: Cash/gift cards, frozen turkey
We can accept donations of turkeys or cash/gift cards for the purchase of turkeys on the morning of Thursday, November 21. All canned/boxed donations should be in by Wednesday, November 20. We thank you for your help in providing for the needs of our own parish families and those in our community.
Updated Carline Drop-off PK-Grade 8
The students enter the school building via the middle doors instead of the main front door for morning carline drop-off. For safety reasons, and for our youngest students to have quicker access to their classrooms, entering by the middle doors seems to be the best solution. Parents should not be dropping off students by the front door as they will not be able to enter that way. All parents should be following the drop-off protocol by moving into the drop-off line and having our staff assist your child to disembark from your vehicle and enter by the middle doors. Students arriving late will have to wait until our staff return to the front office area. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we work to provide the safest and most efficient arrival and dismissal procedures.
