8th Graders Lead Parkview Mock Election - 364 Votes Cast!
Our 8th graders recently led an exciting project to educate younger students about the upcoming election. Working together, they created age-appropriate presentations for 4th to 6th graders, introducing key concepts like voting, the role of different offices, and the importance of civic engagement. The project not only helped our 8th graders deepen their understanding of the election process, but it also empowered our younger students to start thinking critically about their role in our democracy.
A big thank you to Parkview staff: Jerod Nowicki for supporting our 8th graders, and Erin Anderson for sharing her space for Mock Election Day!
More Parkview Votes!
Our kindergartners also learned about the voting process! Only they used a giant pencil to vote on things like their favorite fruit.๐๐๐

How is your student sleeping? ๐ด ๐
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the following:
- 3-5 year olds: 10-13 hours per night
- 6-13 year olds: 9-11 hours per night
- 14-17 year olds: 9-10 hours per night
The key to better sleep is setting your child up for success with a calming environment and avoiding stimulating activities before bed. With Daylight Savings recently behind us, now is a perfect time to review your family's sleep routine!
Here are 3 quick tips to help improve your childโs sleep:
- Have your child go to bed and wake up at the same time every day (even on weekends!).
- Create a relaxing pre-bedtime routine to make falling asleep easier.
- Turn off all electronic devices (TV, tablets, phones) 60 minutes before bed and keep screens out of the bedroom.
For more tips on healthy sleep habits, check out this article on Sleep Awareness.

Important Changes to After-School Activity Bus Routes Starting November 11
Starting Monday, November 11, Roseville Area Schools will implement new schedules and procedures for after-school activity buses. These updates are designed to improve efficiency and provide standardized transportation times for students.
Standardized Departure Times
- Early activity buses will now leave Roseville Area Middle School (RAMS) at 4:15 p.m. and Roseville Area High School (RAHS) at approximately 4:25 p.m.
- Late activity buses are scheduled to depart RAMS at 5:15 p.m. (Monday-Thursday but NOT Friday).
Updated Route Stops
A modified list of designated stops will be available, including locations at elementary schools. Please note that these schools will not be open for student access; they will only serve as bus stop locations.
Students will no longer call out their stops as they would on a city bus. Instead, each student must choose the stop closest to their home from the list of designated locations.
Procedure for Students
If you have a student who will be taking an activity bus home from Roseville Area Middle School, please review the following points with them:
- Students must review the list of available stops and select the one closest to their home.
- Students must inform the bus driver of their selected stop when boarding and then stay alert and be ready to exit the bus as it approaches their stop.
Thank you for supporting our efforts to improve our bus transportation system district wide.
