LPS Tiger Talk

Dear LPS Families,

Each month we celebrate Terrific Tigers as part of our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports system (PBIS). This week was our first Terrific Tigers celebration of the school year. Some common themes for students being recognized were "Tigers who show responsibility by working hard every day, Tigers who show care by being a great friend and including others, and Tigers who show respect by showing whole body listening in class." I love hearing all of the different reasons our students are recognized and can't wait to hear about our next group in October. We are proud of our students and all of their hard work and just want to say Congratulations to our September Terrific Tigers. You are amazing!

On another note, LPS enjoyed celebrating Homecoming Week with the different themes each day. A fan favorite is always the parade and this year was no different. The support from the Loveland community is second to none! Thanks for celebrating all of our Tigers - big and small. Good luck to our LHS Tigers as they play this evening!

Please support our Tigers by donating today!! This is our biggest and most important fundraiser all year! It is how we are able to fund all of the wonderful things we do in the schools such as field trips, teacher grants, conference meals for teachers and so much more!! Our goal this year is $50,000 in order to cover everything. There are exciting prizes to be earned as well!

SCHOOL SMILES partners with Loveland Schools grades K-4 and provides complete dental care on-site at school. This includes cleanings, fluoride, sealants, dental x-rays, restorative care (fillings) and extractions. Dental services are available for insured AND uninsured. No child is turned away due to inability to pay!

Mrs. Chandler and Mrs. Osborn (Speech/Language Pathologist) will be visiting all classrooms through the month of September to teach about Social Thinking with 1st and 2nd graders. Social Thinking is one aspect of our social emotional learning curriculum that we address here at LPS. These lessons focus on showing positive behaviors, being confident in their interactions with others and being problem solvers. We focused on following the group plan and knowing when to keep thoughts in our brain. Please see the attachment below for more information on these lessons. River Sweep On 9/29

Help us clear dams and trash along our nature trail creek to improve water flow and allow for more broad and safe kid exploration! The nature trail is used for our nonprofit's outdoor education programs as we immerse kids in nature. As a haven for wildlife, many invertebrates call the creek bed their home. Feeding the Little Miami, this effort also supports the quality of our regional water system! Free t-shirt provided by ORSANCO for all volunteers!
