Superintendent Update
June 17, 2024
Hello Barrington Families,
Congratulations to all of our 8th graders as they move on to the next stage of their academic careers and head off to a fun filled summer and the high school of their choice in the fall. It has been wonderful to watch you all grow and change over your years here in Barrington. It was so fun for me to see your faces as you walked across the stage last Thursday. I can still see those giggly 5 year old kindergarteners tucked inside each one of you. Well done!
Thank you Barrington Families! It has been a bit of a challenging year in respect to staffing and we certainly all felt the strain and stress. We thank you for being so flexible and understanding and for helping us to problem solve. You all answer our call for help whenever it is needed and we are so grateful to all of you. Whether it is volunteering in a classroom, cafeteria or out at recess or rushing out to pick up your child due to a shortage of bus drivers, you are always there. We can not do this work without all of you. 💜
Please join me in celebrating Ms. Wendy Rowe, the recipient of the Champions for Children Award, and Ms. Jess Linden, the recipient of the Educational Excellence Award. It is individuals like these who make our schools and community great! Congratulations Wendy and Jess!
Please note: Due to a change in the scoring of the NH SAS test at the state level you will not receive your child’s score report with the final report card. We will mail these over the summer once we receive the finalized scores from the Department of Education.
Thank you to everyone who completed the High School Choice Survey. The results were wonderfully consistent and even. The Barrington Community certainly appreciates its high school choice model as well as the transportation that we provide to all of our high schools. Here are the results
New Opportunity:
This summer Barrington will be participating in a summer meals program offered through the Community Action Partnership of Strafford County. For the first time, Barrington qualifies as a rural site to receive this free assistance. There is no need to sign up and no personal or identifying information is needed. You simply need to arrive at the Middle School Parking lot each Tuesday between 4:30-5:30 pm from June 18 - August 20th. Here is the program flyer with additional details and pick up locations.
There will be employees and volunteers from the Community Action Partnership at the Middle School parking lot on each of the specified Tuesdays. You will simply need to drive through the line, tell the worker how many children you have from birth to age 18 and they will provide you with a week’s worth of meals for your family. We are extremely grateful to be able to offer this partnership.

Hello Barrington Families,
For our final newsletter of the school year, I wanted to provide the highlights regarding our new and improved Student Enrollment Form.
As a reminder, if your child/children are planning on returning to the Barrington School District next year, you don't have to worry about remembering to fill out an online registration form. Typically, toward the beginning of August, we will automatically send you a custom link with pre-populated information for you to access the online form and verify the information that the school has on file.
The updated Student Enrollment Form includes new Contacts, Priority and Siblings pages. The addition of these pages will allow us to collect more accurate information from families to facilitate better communication, allowing us to respond more quickly in the event of an emergency. Below are the main highlights of what to expect with the new form.
New Pages
The graphic above shows the OLD form pages on the LEFT and the NEW form pages on the RIGHT. The "Family" and "Emergency" pages have been replaced with the "Contacts", "Priority", and "Siblings" pages. This will allow families more flexibility in the designation of roles that are assigned to family and friends responsible for your children.
Within the contact record you can designate the role that each of the the contacts will have, IE. Emergency, notification settings, Transportation pickup, custody etc.
On the Priority page you can designate a priority order of who to contact if a particular contact is not avaiilable.
The Siblings page makes it easier to to add other children from the same family who also attend the Barrington School District.
Contacts Page
- The Contacts page will start out with general information about parents, followed by individual contact details. This is where you will specify if a contact is an emergency contact.
- Please do not enter the same contact more than once.
- A minimum of 5 contacts are requested (but not required) including Mother/Father/Legal Guardian and three additional emergency contacts.
- Our schools use School Messenger for mass communication (email, phone, text) with parent/guardians. For contacts entered on this page, you can identify which contacts you want to receive mass communications from the school via school messenger.
Priority Page
Siblings Page
Depending on the number chosen, the form will give you First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, Gender, School and Grade based on the number of siblings chosen.
I want to wish everyone a happy and safe summer!! See you in the fall!
Stay cool!
Facilities
Hello Barrington Families,
The hot weather of summer is upon us. With the kids getting ready for the summer break we are excited to start moving forward to get the buildings ready for the next school year.
It has been a great year. We will have activities mostly at the middle school from the local camps soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc.
I hope you all have a great summer, and look forward to an eventful summer between activities and projects.
Thanks for a great school year.
Hope you all enjoy the summer and will see you in August.
Best,
