Eligibility. At the Skyward Conference this past week there was a lot of learning that happened! One of the systems we are trying to do a better job of automating is the eligibility system. I am in the process of working with Skyward to recreate our system to automate a bit more of it. Unfortunately, this means that we are not able to run eligibility this week. As always we will error on the side of the students and so we will not count eligibility this week. Please login to Skyward and check your student's grades so you can discuss how best to improve them if there are any concerns. In addition to eligibility improvements I also learned how to ensure parents receive automatic emails each time a fee is added to their account which has already been turned on, items we need to improve to ensure our GPA calculations are correct in Skyward in lieu of running separate reports for honor roll, and potential improvements we can consider that will enhance parent/student experiences in Skyward. I am excited to continue my learning to improve outcomes for our staff and stakeholders.
Class Preference Forms. Students in 6th and 7th grade will work with their counselors this week in their social studies classes to establish their elective course preferences for the 2025-2026 school year. Students will automatically receive an email with their course preference selections. They will be encouraged to send that email to their parents to encourage discussions at home regarding course preferences and student interests. Please remember that students will be registered for their choice classes in the order that their parents/guardians complete returning enrollment through Skyward. As classes fill up student will be given their next highest selection. We are at almost 30% enrollment completed for the upcoming year.
