CLMS Family Update
February 7, 2025
From CLMS Principal, Mr. Eric Pettit
Good Afternoon CLMS Families!
We hope you had a great week as we continue moving through the second semester. With routines firmly in place, students are engaged in learning and making strides toward their academic goals. As always, we appreciate your partnership in supporting their success and ensuring a positive learning environment. Your involvement—whether through checking in on homework, attending events, or simply encouraging your student—makes a difference.
Looking ahead, parent-teacher conference sign-ups will be sent out next week, providing a great opportunity to connect with teachers and discuss your child’s progress. Additionally, please note that we have a scheduled two-hour late start on Wednesday, so be sure to plan accordingly. These mid-year conferences and schedule adjustments allow us to reflect, recalibrate, and continue working toward a strong finish to the school year.
We also want to take a moment to congratulate our winter sports athletes for a fantastic season! Their dedication, teamwork, and perseverance have been on full display, and we are proud of all they have accomplished. From the basketball court to the wrestling mat and the cheerleading sidelines, our students have represented CLMS with heart and determination. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to another great week at CLMS!
As always, Go Pirates!

CLMS Classroom Highlight- Cardington Pride Runs Deep!
CLMS is dedicated to fostering a positive school culture, and we celebrated that commitment with a winter athletic pep rally ahead of tournament weekend. This event was a fantastic opportunity to recognize our student-athletes for their dedication and hard work throughout the season. The gym was filled with excitement as students participated in friendly competitions, creating an atmosphere of school spirit and unity. It was great to see our athletes celebrated by their peers, reinforcing the importance of teamwork and perseverance. We are proud of their efforts this season!
February 20th- Parent/Teacher Conferences
Our next round of Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on February 20th. Throughout next week, teachers will be reaching out to invite families, and sign-ups will be made public in next week’s Family Update. If families would like to schedule a conference before sign-ups are released, they are welcome to call the CLMS Office at (419) 864-0609, option 4.
Attendance Reminder
Consistent school attendance is essential for student success, but we understand there are times when a student may be unable to attend. If your student will be absent, please notify the CLMS office by phone or email as soon as possible. Families can call at any time and leave a voicemail if we are unable to answer. If your student is missing school due to a doctor’s appointment, be sure to request a school excuse from the provider and turn it in to the CLMS office, as these hours will not count toward truancy. We appreciate your help in ensuring accurate attendance records and supporting your student’s education!
