Principal's Message

Happy Friday Cougar Families!


When the 2024-25 school year began we shared that our collective goal was to increase daily attendance and decrease chronic absenteeism (Defined as missing 10% or more of the school days). While still early, I am happy to share that we are off to a positive start. Please be on the lookout next week for a message on ParentSquare with a comprehensive update that details the successes we have had in the first six weeks of the school year.


Thank you to everyone who has casted their vote for the governing board election. This is a reminder that ballots MUST be received by 3:30 PM on Wednesday September 25. They can be submitted in person in the front office or mailed in using the prepaid postage stamp that is provided with the ballot. If you have yet to place it in the mail, we highly recommend you submit it in person. To increase convenience, we will have our ballot box in front of the school through Wednesday, September 25.

Governing Board Election Timeline

Election Timeline

September 9, 2024 - Election materials/ballots mailed to all eligible voters by U.S. mail. Don't forget to check your mailbox! Voting officially begins today.

September 16, 2024 - Governing Board Community Candidates Forum sponsored by PTO at 5:30pm in the SCHS Library

September 25, 2024 - Last day to receive ballots in the school office by 3:30pm. Ballots received after September 25 at 3:30pm are invalid and will not be counted. Voting officially ends today.

September 30, 2024 - Count ballots and certify the vote.

October 9, 2024 - Installation of the new Board members at the Regular Business Board meeting.

Join us in NEON on the Visitors Side Spirit Section at Valhalla! You must bring your student ID to enter! This game is the annual battle for the JAMACHA HELMET and we would appreciate you showing up to support our team! Rah Rah Cougars!

College Application Workshops

Seniors! College Application Workshops in the Counseling office will start on Tuesday, October 1, and will continue through November. The October workshops will be held on Tuesday and Thursday during blocks 1 & 2. The dates and times for November will be sent out once a schedule has been determined. Please remember to bring your Chromebook to start or continue working on your applications. We will be there to answer all of your questions and review your applications before submitting them. No sign-up is necessary, and you can attend as many workshops as you need to complete your applications.
