Meet Our School's Social Worker
Sandy Levy, Social Worker
Welcome, Families! Thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter. As the P94M social worker, I’m here to support both students and families by advocating, connecting you with resources, and sharing helpful information from the community. I look forward to working together for a successful school year! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out by phone or email—whichever works best for you.

About NYPL After School
• This is a free program for kids ages 6–12. Registration is not required to attend. • Program staff generally work with children in a group format. While staff may help kids individually, NYPL After School does not provide one-to-one tutoring or teaching. • Staff offer homework help, as well as games, crafts, and other enriching activities for kids. • Program staff are not responsible for supervising unattended children. Caregivers should remain at the library with kids who need supervision. • The NYPL After School table is required for youth participants and program staff. Parents and caregivers may find additional seating nearby. • NYPL After School is available Monday through Thursday during the school year. There is no NYPL After School on dates when NYC Public Schools are not in session.

Please note that OPWDD needs to be in place first before you can use NY START/CSIDD services.
Transportation Services
The Medicaid Transportation program ensures Medicaid members can get to and from their medical appointments at no cost to them. We arrange non-emergency transportation, such as pre-scheduled trips to primary care and the dentist. For emergency medical services, please call 911. We do not provide trips to non-medical locations like pharmacies, gyms, schools, or grocery stores.
Trips are arranged at the most medically appropriate, cost-effect level of service. These include public transit, taxi/livery, ambulette, ambulance (ALS/BLS), and personal vehicle mileage reimbursement. Members generally travel using the same mode they use for daily living.
The Department contracts with a transportation broker, Medical Answering Services (MAS). They schedule the trips, manage contact centers, conduct utilization review, and perform other administrative functions for the Medicaid Transportation program.
More detail about the program can be found on the MAS website:https://www.medanswering.com.
