The Terrapin Times #11
A Leader in Me School - October 11, 2024
Dear Families,
We had a great week at Turtleback! Our students were focusing on decoding, phonics, narrative writing, identifying key details, understanding complex math problems, interacting with their big & little buddies, attending art and PE enrichment classes, and enjoying free time outside with friends! It is such a gift getting to work with your children and we are having a fantastic year! Please enjoy our student created video above highlighting our Habit for this month: Begin With the End in Mind!
Important Upcoming Dates:
- October 15th: ELAC Meeting @ 8:00am on campus - all families of English Language Learners are invited to attend.

- October 25th: Harvest Festival 5:00-7:00 If you can help with set up, pick up or running a station during the event, please email Archana Balasubramanian (archana.balasub@gmail.com) directly. Hope to see you there!
- Week of October 28: Red Ribbon Week
- October 31st: Halloween Parade @ 8:00, early release for all students dismissing at 11:55. Families, we'd love to have you join us to watch the parade starting at 8:00. There will be designated spots to watch in the front of the school!
Now that we have been in school for almost two months, we would like to streamline our morning drop off procedures further. We still have some parents who are getting out of their vehicles at the "circle" which is a safety hazard. We respectfully ask that if you would like to walk your child to the gate, you park your car in the neighborhood, or briefly at High Country West, and walk them all the way to the gate. If you want to use the drop off lane, please do not get out of the vehicle. Work with your child on having all their belongings with them and walking directly to the gate. This will foster independence, and your children will be so proud of themselves. We do have adults monitoring and helping anyone who needs it. We appreciate your help in making our drop off smooth and safe.
Very warmly,
Lisa Maguire
