Dear Parents/Guardians,
Happy October! It's beginning to look a lot like fall around Western Primary! The hallways are covered with apples, pumpkins, fall writings, and artwork. We've been super busy with a lot of learning! All of the beginning of the year assessments and review are behind us and we have hit the ground running with learning new skills. It’s wonderful to see our students engaged and growing each day.
This month, we are focusing on building strong habits in both learning and behavior. One of the most impactful habits you can encourage at home is daily reading. Research shows that children who read regularly outside of school build stronger literacy skills, which directly supports their success in the classroom. Whether it’s reading a favorite story together or exploring new books, setting aside time each day for reading makes a big difference.
A special thank you to all the families who attended our recent Literacy Night! Your participation shows your dedication to supporting your child’s reading journey, and we hope the strategies and resources shared will help make reading an exciting part of your daily routine at home.
