Happy Sunday Families!

It's the last week before Winter Break! We have some activities going on all week, and there is NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY!

The REINDEER RUN is Thursday at 10:00AM. Please be sure to send your child to school in PE shoes, they will all be participating in this fun run. Parents are welcome to come, but must sign in through the office as usual.

1st Trimester Awards Assemblies are THIS WEEK on Wednesday, December 18. We will have one assembly for Tk-3rd Grade at 9:00 AM and one assembly for 4th - 6th Grades at 10:40 AM. All Awards Assemblies will be in the MPR. Your child's teacher will send you notice if they are receiving an award at this assembly.

Don't forget: our last day before Winter Break is Thursday December 19, and this is a MINIMUM DAY for all students. Our Wednesday is also a regular MINIMUM DAY. We will dismiss at the same time we normally dismiss on Wednesdays.

Just a reminder as we head into the holiday break next week that you can use your smart phone to control your student's ipad when you are at home. Please go to our school web page, mouse over parents at the top, then click on "Control your student's ipad at home" and you will get instructions on how to link the ipad to your phone. You can turn the ipad off, limit the apps available, make it so only one app is available (like Sora for reading library books), or give the device a time out. You can do this all year from 6pm to 6:30am every weekday and all weekend long, but holiday breaks are a great time to try out this feature. Use the link below to go to the school website page:

We welcome Community Review and feedback in support of our efforts to continue providing enriching, robust, standards-aligned content and curriculum for our students with engagement from our FSD community. To comply with Board Policy, and provide more accessibility, as of November 1, we have all materials for our recommended adoption available for in-person viewing in the main lobby of the District Office. District office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30

Our Tigers continue to learn from Second Step Elementary, a research-based social-emotional learning program designed to help children both in and out of the classroom.

Unit 3- Empathy and Kindness. What a great subject for this month and beyond! Students will lean the importance of empathy and how they can show kindness in many ways.

Here is a copy of our PBIS Matrix. All FSD Schools use this to outline exactly what is expected from our students. We teach these expectations at the beginning of the school year, practice them, and then review throughout the year. Student earn rewards, like Tiger Tickets for demonstrating these behaviors in class, walking about campus, at lunch and recess and using the restrooms.
